The Official NBA 2013-2014 Thread: Spurs win Championship:Heat cooled off

I think Thibs should get COTY from turning DJ Augustin from a scrub to a serviceable point guard and the fact they’ve been playing with no Rose and traded away Deng.
If he doesn’t, Horncacek would get COTY just by turning Phoenix around from a team projected to be in the bottom to being in the playoff hunt.

Dang it. If dalls won today then we would have been in the 7th seed but instead we’re one loss behind Phoenix and Memphis

WTF. I’m in 4 fantasy bball leagues. I check NBA news daily. I read this thread daily. I was in San Antonio a month ago. And I just noticed that the Spurs are on an 18-win streak. Good grief.

Oh, and great wins by Warriors.

Man Knicks need to win against BK tomorrow.

Pacers BETTER win tomorrow against Detroit.

I honestly think this is IND’s only shot. Lance is more than likely GONE. Evan Turner will be gone also. I say that to say that even getting one more PG won’t solve matters, and this little ‘spill’ is only going to fracture things to the point that some players won’t (a) want to stay or (b) want to come. They’ll be able to hold their core together - but I don’t think they’ll ever be this good again, and the rest of the division is more than likely going to be better. Right now I assume the Big 3 are going to stick together - so you have MIA, Chicago is at LEAST getting a healthy Rose finally, and possible stealing Melo (I still don’t like that move though), CHA & WAS are both just getting better steadily, I don’t see the Raptors improving, if anything they more than likely wil ltake a small step back, but still being competitive, BK is finally off that bullshit, like I said the other day - the Knicks aren’t that far off despite waht the record suggests, and their record will land them a valuable prospect. If they can get their hands on Jabari Parker…and keep Melo (doubtful)…that’s something to watch.

So the rest of the east - where Indy made it’s money - will be better next season, Ind will be weaker, I just don’t see a window for them short of this season.

The Knicks don’t own their pick this year it’s owed to Denver (Melo trade) and depending on where the Nuggets and Knicks finish its owed to Orlando (Howard-Iggy-Afflalo-Bynum trade).

True but again, I will say it’s neither here nor there. The West is stack, I mean super stack. The West got the nicer weather  3 teams at 7,8, and 9 with the same wins right now, and GSW is now 2 games ahead of them. They are also 2 games behind 5th seed. There’s no headroom at all. Regardless, nothing has happen yet. Let MJ do his thing before people can judge. He played the bench correctly in the 1st half of the season. Bazemore, Kuzmic, Nedo, Toney Douglas, Mo Speights, Marshon are all fuck ups, and he didn’t want the 1st unit getting used to them. This is how we arrived to Steve Blake and Jordan Crawford. Now he can stagger the line ups. Let people speculate. Judge after.

I need Houston to win tonight so that the Bulls can capture the 3rd seed tonight.

Holy cow that Warriors game! Jermaine Oneils block was legit. When I first saw it in real time I thought, “oh wow I think he got away with one”. After seeing it from the side angle in real time and slow motion you can clearly see that the ball was still at its peak. Good no call.

i dont see rose as a big impact piece
i see him now as a complementary piece who can be good to great in sequences maybe later when he gets fully correct mentally he will be a star again
i just dont think its the same impact as everyone else
brooklyn has so much luxury tax up their ass they need a suppository
the pace other teams are at they are 3 to 4 yrs removed from being serious contenders

IDK i think indianas chances still stack well next year
its not like they are completely despondent smashed down yet

Rose is gonna be a random factor.

If he’s actually healthy, then the Bulls are automatically better, if not, then things will just continue as normal (or whatever you wanna call it).

Indy blew it. They won’t have another chance. BKN, CHI, possibly WAS and CHA are gonna power creep with MIA being on top for the most part. I’m predicting that things in the East (right now) will stay as they are (in terms of positioning) and maybe the Bulls get lucky and secure 3rd seed to practically guarantee a 2nd round appearance and knock out the Pacers (assuming they survive and get that far LOL)

I agree with the main idea, but how the hell is Brooklyn gonna get better anytime soon? The Bobcats are only “good” because everyone else is trash, and it’s going to be at least 2 years before the Celtics are decent.

Well, on paper, if they get their shit together, then BKN will likely be better. They’re also missing Lopez though, so that’s a thought.

The bobcats blew up the roster several times, and now I hope they can see that All Jefferson and Kemba Walker are 90% of their offense and they should build upon the roster to complement them.

Also, I never mentioned BOS.

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are glorified role players at this point. BKN is a threat to no one.

There’s a lot of huge debate over that, very close.

However, I don’t see anybody talking about how both Marion and Nowitski both fouled Klay and JO driving to the basket. Karate chop, they love that karate chop, shit is so quick, that refs don’t catch it. We can’t argue on bad ref calls all day, dubs fans know this. So suck it Mavs. Maybe next time.

the block is realllllllllllly close. been arguing it all morning with skype friends. could go either way.

the foul thing is also suspect. it was off klay, but because he was getting slapped across both forearms. if you’re not going to call the foul, then you gotta play it straight. a make up call during a replay is pretty messed up. it was also pretty bullshit that the penalty didn’t get called.

just a messy game when it came to referee’ing.

Damn knicks playing like GODS right now.

Indiana STRUGGLING
Miami Bodying
Houston and Toronto playing great ball. Look like it will be a close one.
Atlanta surviving to stay in that 8th spot.

Craig Sager probably jelly at this suit Wade is wearing.
