The Official NBA 2013-2014 Thread: Spurs win Championship:Heat cooled off

mark jackson is “okay” in the most strict sense. but one thing that is apparent this year that wasn’t the case last year is the offensive play calling, which has been pretty uneventful. the stretch yesterday where warriors didn’t score in the second came from tons and tons of iso plays for the second squad that you saw mark calling from the sideline. they are a “defensive minded” team, but you needed to put the ball in the basket… and that 15-0 run to end the quarter when he could have stopped it was ridiculously bad coaching.

mark jackson is “okay”. but a good coach with this team would never lose to the knicks like they did, and many of the other horrible teams that walk into oakland and walk out with a win.

Love mark jackson
so passionate
good basketball iq
sometime over emotional but i love that too
you are 17 games over 500
idk man who else is out there to fill the shoes and why would you
you should contemplate the match up with the spurs but eh

Thompson is inconsistent, which doesn’t help. Barnes has been moved back to the 3 even though he played better at the 4. Bogut can not stay healthy and Curry is turnover prone and takes bad shots. I am not sure what the answer is but Jackson is not helping.

Im just asking the question of whos a better coach out there right now available
the warriors fans have been spoiled because until just few years ago you had promise but you weren’t where you are now.
the growth has been a problem this year and the inconsistency happens because of the fact that having one of the best back courts in the league that can shoot anybodys lights out will do that to you especially in and out of a 82 game stretch. from there you dont zero in every play and have trouble always focusing on the right plays.

bu you are 17 games above .500 cant be too much complaining
maybe the playoffs help you zero in and sound decisions are madde better

I’m sorry, hate Mark Jack all you want.

Whenever an organization is talking about dumping their coach, they need to have a fitting replacement in mind. You see what happened to the LOLaker’s when they drop-kicked Mike Brown. The NYK had a GREAT contingency plan when D’Antoni was let go. Who do the Warriors have?

i don’t hate mark jackson at all. but the talk about losing malone to sac lead to talk that the offensive playcalling would suffer… and it did.

mark jackson has a good philosophy, and i’m all for having a defensive minded team. but he refuses to see that bad offense often leads to bad defense. when when your play calling puts the offense in a rut, something needs to be rectified.

not saying he needs to be fired, but he needs to find an assistant he isn’t going to be at war with that can get the right plays called to get the team going. no more elevator screens or misdirection plays, most of their set plays are curls off of pin downs and high pick and roll… someone who can utilize the strengths of the team and get it into a system that benefits the whole team, not just curry, klay, and lee.

He will always be at war with his assistant, that is the issues. Scalabrine wanted to run Barnes at the 4 and have more of a free flowing uptempo pace, something Jackson is completely against. Basically he wanted to run Barnes at the 4 and Lee at the 5 and create miss matches offensively.

Hibbert has really underwhelmed me this game. I don’t know if it’s just Pop taking him out or what, but the Pacers struggling

Indiana tried SO hard to keep the top seed, but failed. Miami is on the ups after their struggles with 3 straight wins and Indiana has gone the opposite direction.

He really wasn’t that much of a brick wall post all star game last year until playoff time. It’s really something I expect to be repeated.

Oh, and dem spurs are scury

Well, its Miami in the top seed in the east.

Pacers look like they ain’t getting past the second round.

Naaaaaah Miami keep the 2nd seed the fuck you’re doing? Go Sixers mode!

Oh btw:

Pacers been talking about the 1st seed all season ad couldn’t hold on. Their obsession with Miami will be their end

Pretty much and George thinking he’s a superhero and forcing too many bad shots which is why their offense is horribad.

PG still thinking about the Catfish situation he had LOL

just saw the fantasy results for last wk. How does yahoo decide who wins if it’s tied at the end?

the knicks still going for that playoff spot when the pacers finally lose the top spot

god damnit

I’m really worried about the Mavs conditioning and age at this point. It’s been very evident the last couple of games and all those bad 3rd and early 4th quarters, that shortly after halftime the team plays a lot worse and only Monta is running if the Mavs get any fastbreaks. Second wave strategy or not, the Mavs need to get a quick wing player for next year as one of their priorities.

The Spurs are 115-27(.810%) with Kawhi in the line-up since RJ was traded.

It goes by regular season H2H matchup.
