The Official NBA 2013-2014 Thread: Spurs win Championship:Heat cooled off

there are quite a few horrible lakers fans out there.

i could probably throw a rock randomly in LA and hit 2 horrible laker fans.

I was going to get offended, but realized it’s true…

i guess he could end up guarding LMA, is the POR coach confirmed ASG coach for the west then?

Meh.

fuck melo

never had to address this melo to l.a. shit because it never was feasible in anyone’s mind until ESPN,needing to keep their ratings up in the West Coast, decided to push this storyline much like a Wrestling Promotion would, with as much shock value and lies as possible.

Forgot to start my players again…

Oh crap I’m feeling like Larry.

OR
TIS

Nash’s return got pushed back again with a “tweaked back”. I hear he’s trying hard to come back but this season just isn’t worth it, by the time Nash or Kobe gets back we will be 15 games under .500 or more.

Sigh Hawks. Can’t hate on that effort, KD is just too fucking good.

Raptors third in the East they making the finals this season.

can i 1-up you? http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lbk7dr9

LOL Javale McGee in that trade?

Durant is killing it

Lala said Melo is staying in NY. Like she knows

More like she stays, and he moves on. Melo is approaching 30 and the knicks are going nowhere.
Chicago would be a good option on paper, but Reinsdorf is so cheap…

I don’t see how KD isn’t the MVP. Who’s playing better than he is right now?

Amir Johnson with the dirty screen to help the raptors win over the nets

That’s because they’re 1st in the West now so the MVP chatter has gotten stronger. Two weeks ago when OKC was third in the conference, it was all about Paul George for MVP. You know how this plays out.

Miami is 2 games behind Indiana for top spot in the East. Watch how quickly everybody starts hopping back on “LeBron For MVP” if they get 1st.

MVP race is a bogus affair that’s based on hot streaks.

Hate to be that guy that quotes his own post.

Seems like people are just reluctant to give it to him because everyone still considers LeBron better.

Throughout this season, KD has been a beast. He’s not just unstoppable offensively, but it looks effortless and he’s not forcing anything throughout the game. He’s had career numbers and is scarily efficient. He’s been better defensively and is putting up career numbers one night while hitting game winners on another night. They’ve beaten the Clips, Warriors, Rockets, Blazers, and Spurs without Westbrook and KD now leads the league in scoring by a wide margin (31.3 to Melo’s 27.2). They play in much stronger conference and have the second best record in the league.

How grueling does the schedule have to be before people start giving this guy credit? What about LeBron? His numbers look good, but he’s playing on a championship squad with two perennial all-stars and an organization that is perfectly fine with this team coasting until the post season. They’re not denying the season doesn’t mean much to them, and LeBron isn’t trying to prove he’s still the MVP. He plays in the East. Where a losing record might get you home court in the first round of the playoffs and your only competition is ONE other team. Is he amazing despite all of that? Of course, the guy’s a monster, but he has not been better than KD for the majority of the season (thus far).

It could end up being LeBron if he decides to turn it on after the all-star break, but to act like KD isn’t the MVP so far is crazy. This guy is doing work with an arguably less talented squad in a stronger conference. Give the guy some credit now, c’mon.

Melo will go wherever Lala tells him to, it is the reason he went to NY anyway.

Yeah. KD is putting up Lebron numbers. No way he shouldn’t be the frontrunner right now.

Fuck in-depth analysis involving stats and advanced metrics determining who should win the MVP. Awards should be based on how a player (and his team) performs against the Raptors. KD and the Thunder lost to the Raptors, and that was when Westbrook was still playing. PG isn’t even worth discussing as the Pacers were shut down by the Dinosaur Defense in one of their matchups. Meanwhile, Lebron without trying clowns on Toronto, even finding the time to dance on their home court.

Therefore LBJ for MVP.
