Ah yes thank you. The thing is my Xbox Live is under strict connection. It’s been like that for a while and I have a hard time connecting to players, but it shouldn’t be a problem playing other Jacksonville residence. I have very little experience with tournaments. Participated in small ones, but I never participated in a Ranbat tournament. Looking for people I can practice with since I’m going to participate in EXP con.
Anyway, my Xbox Live gamertag is: muffincakes87
Please note that I have a shared account with my brothers and they use the account as well. Especially now they got Gears of War 3. Not to mention I can only play on weekends. Family rules since it’s school time. Weird I know.
Edit: Oh and sying, you don’t mind if I add my info to the Jacksonville players list do you.
Please do its there for everyone to view and add.
If you are free on the weekdays I suggest going to tyger’s ranbats at Underground Alley in Orange Park, see To Salty’s sig.
Sheldon I would say keep the tournament to a Sunday. Either the week after or two weeks after EXPcon is fine with me, doesn’t make a difference. Can’t think of anything else I’d like to see, everything sounds good.
Hey guys. Sorry I don’t come here much. I’d like to change that.
For the newcomer, currentlemon, if you could ever make it out to either my ranbats on Thursdays or sying’s on Sunday, you will be welcomed with open arms.
In fact, bringing newcomers to enter events should be rewarded.
All newcomers for their Thursday Ranbats will have their first venue fee waived.
Also, if you bring a console setup, your venue will be waived from here on out. I didn’t start with the rule but we definitely need more!
Hope to see most of you guys tomorrow!
yo not gonna lie will be looking forward to this especially if we can get a stream going. gonna suggest it now we go to kickbacks to drink right after or during or before
Oooo that would definetly be sick if we could get a stream going for the tourney.
Whats up Jacksonville just wanted to give you guys a heads up about future tournies that will be held in the Southside area of Jacksonville. More info will be given when we get everything settled.
So far we know that our first tournies will be for SSF4 AE:. Then in the future we will add more games (MvC3, 3rd Strike , MK9, etc etc).
learning Dejin Ryu because i can’t cr.short cr.short to super wworth to save my life. i am a scrub and an asshole
@Xavb … sorry long post.
Have you tried buffering the first fireball motion between the two shorts? So you go from neutral to down+short then you spin it quickly around through neutral and back to down for the second short… then you just quickly finish the super motion and hit short (or jab depending on the super) again at about double the speed of the other two hits. There’s also the super shortcut of [Fireball through neutral to DownForward +Atk]. The motion would map out to 23653+Atk. That helps for things like Short, Jab, Short xx Super.
The trick with any execution issue is just attempting to do them for at least one hour a day. Every day. No exceptions. At least 50 or so reps if you are really having trouble.
The thing is it doesn’t matter if you can’t do it. If you keep attempting to do it your muscles get used to that “area” of movement and over time they become more precise. If you keep trying short short super you eventually get it once every 10 tries or so… then you start getting it once every 7 or so… then a week later you are getting it once every 4 or 5 tries… eventually… after like two or three weeks you are getting it almost every time. Then you just have to do that for another month or so and you get it in matches consistently… The next step after that is learning to “confirm” and purposely NOT firing the super when the first short fails to connect. That takes like 4-6 months to get even remotely well but if you can do it you can play with minimal risk and pressure really well.
I’m sure you probably know all this but sometimes it helps to have someone say it all again.
It’s a slow process. You just have to do it. There’s no shortcuts. This is fighting games.
Not that I’m saying learning Denjin Ryu is a bad thing. He can be interesting and fun. The biggest thing to do with him is learn proper setups for denjin ASAP. It’s one of the easiest supers in the game to parry unless you set it up correctly. Almost easier than EX fireballs. It’s just that first hit that’s tricky until you get it.
Anyway I’ve posted this in the old thread before but I have a feeling alot of people missed it.
GO THERE!
This guy is like the 3s librarian. I know alot of you were “wowed” by Gootecks and the SoCal guys, but if you watch these videos you can see why they have to be classified as mediocre. Just watch the most recent East vs. West or the Versus League Battle or the Game Bingo 3on3. The Japanese have just always been leaps and bounds beyond anyone else in this game. Actual arcades. Commentary. Guys like RX using Urien… it’s just a whole different thing.
As far as Ryu…there’s very few Ryu’s over there. Ruu is one to look out for. So is Dance. Some really good players use him as a secondary… like Boss. Kuroda plays everyone. You can find some on here and they are awesome. I’m pretty sure a Ryu streaked in East vs. West 8 or 9 for a good long run. I think it was 8. He was Denjin too! I think Denjin has been coming back recently so there might be some new tricks with him that make it more legit these days. Investigate!
The things you need to watch in the video are how these guys deal with oki, how they deal with mixup pressure and how they create “setups” that they trick people into walking into. You might not be able to see it at first but as you get used to the game you start to realize how much they are actually doing at all times. How many options are being thrown out at any moment to cover common reactions to the situation. It’s really pretty amazing.
Haha speaking of streams I saw you recruiting people to HH in a stream. Awesome work dude. Good advertisement.

Looks at Blood Roar article Poor Mugen. Also Birds do you mind telling me the name of that Urien we were talking about (not RX).
Crazy Urien is Messatsu. He’s the wild style dude.

Assuming nothing comes up FR 15 we in there if anyone has already registered is it 25$ venue and then 25$ per game (Assuming I register before the 31). Also aww yeah 4 points in 3s looks a TKK’s points I’m going to slink back to training mode and learn how to parry that damn tatsu.
$10 per game. I really liked Jebaileys method. If you get a hotel then you get venue fee paid
Hey dudes! I plan on making my first appearance at Thursday’s ranbats at UA so long as I meet my deadlines and don’t get sucked into Dark Souls too much, hahah. I’m ready to get my face smashed at 3S. Looking forward to meeting all of you and making some new friends!
