The Official Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 Thread

Might be a stupid question, anyways do any of ya’ll have tourneys for the game in your area? just wondering.

glad Kabuto is in.
i also agree on akamaru and karasu gone as well.

awesome…i dont know how kisame got in there, considering he hasnt done much of anything, but now i’m definitely obligated to buy this game…7 new charaters for my Neji to own…

the funny thing is Mizuki didn’t do anything either but he got in Naruto 3 and Kabuto didn’t :badboy: that is some funny shit

#41 Here in Spain there are many tournaments of Naruto 3 at least in Barcelona

in naruto GNTS 3 Jiraiya and Tsunade 's special were horrible IMO i hope they get new ones

Things i wanna see in GNTS 4

Specials
Chouji - Butterfly Wings
Kiba - 2headed dog

Last year at a comics convention I know there were a GC with GNT3 set-up in the VG room, but I don’t think they actually ran a tournament for it. A lot of people seemed to have fun playing it, but I think that a lot of them may have been playing it for the first time, and thus most likely wouldn’t have been willing to drop any money to enter a tournament for it.

I might purchase this game and a Gamecube instead of a 360 in Nov. Im looking foreward to the ps3 more anyway. Do you guys think its worth it? I’m a Naruto fan but sadly I haven’t enjoyed any of the games yet.

“horrible”? Their specials deals out ALOT of damage when put into combos, killing some characters, and nearly killing other characters.

i dont think its worth it…naruto is a fun game an’ all, especially if u manage to get 3 other people to play that actually know what they’re doing…but i’d definitely buy a system with infinite potential over a system that was dead at its prime…dont buy a cube for 1 game…even if it is pretty good…i wouldnt recommend it…depends on ure money situation though…game, freeloader, controllers, memory card…thats over $250…

agreed you can combo or juggle that shit for easily all their health even more. jariya down x was really useful combos also. Tsunade’s shit is just as good. you could do X and take out all their health or down X on critical and just gain life back!!! ouch

im glad to hear about tournaments happening. and i heard otakon this year was so bad in naruto 3 which is obvious since they just play becuase they seen tha anime( and not sayin ya’ll don’t just sayin for first timers and shit).

how have the ps2 versions of the game play like? thinking of picking up the new naruhitimett (spell check?) for ps2 since i don’t have a cube, but would like to know who’s in it and what have been the difference in the past between the cube and ps2 games.

Well, they play very differently. The ps2 is more like SSBM, while this is more of a hands on fighting game. The general consensus between PS2 and GC owners is that the GC is much better, regardless of the fact that the ps2 versions are flashy and shiny. The gameplay just isn’t there.

I deviate since I strongly like the PS2 version more.

Truth… well at least as far as I’m concerned. I just find the GameCube games to be much more enjoyable because, as you said, they have more gameplay backing them up. I thought that the ps2 games were only really fun when I first started playing, had no idea what I was doing, and I was playing against other people who also had no idea what they were doing. Seeing who could make up the best tactics on the fly kept it fun.

Edit: Agmaster, that avatar is fucking great!

I’m not so into the Narutimate Hero ps2 game as I find it’s just too basic. Not really into the whole button-masher/stick-spinning super they have there (reminds me of how much I hate DBZ Bukodai because of the randomness). I’d rather have GNT4 ported to the ps2 then play NH3 that’s practically identical to NH2 except with more characters.

The only reason I could think of that would make the NH series more popular at all is the fact that it’s so easy to learn and get into that the casual player can just enjoy it right away (which makes it a good party game). GNT is like SF in the sense that even if you wanted to get into it, you’d have to put in more time and effort then you would have to for the NH series and that turns off casual players… and as we know already, Casual Players > Semi-Hardcore+ Players in quantity and sales are all that really matter nowadays.

This is sad though just because I’m not willing to shell out money right now for a GC to enjoy the interesting GNT series when I have my sights set on getting a PS3. =(

That’s cool. To each his own.

thanks for the info kyoujin… wouldn’t mind picking up a gc just for this game, but would like to know the full roster. are the characters from 3 still here? and hows the gameplay differ from the older ones? I used to have a gc and naruto 2 but needed money so I sold the gc. now my copy of naruto 2 just collects dust. was a really fun game though.

Well, since GNT2 everything has been in the next installment and then some. I never play GNT2, maybe once (literally) since I got GNT3. Expect GNT4 to have everything that GNT3 has plus updates. There also add engine tweaks in every new installment. For example, in GNT3, there were team attacks and new supers. In GNT4, there is running side-steps, updated roster, tweaked team attacks taht are more unique (and hopefully not as broken), new stages, layouts, and possibly new supers.

UPDATE ON GEKITOU NINJA TAISEN 4:

There is a fake, yes a fake picture of Asuma and the 2nd Hokage floating around. It isn’t even that well done, to be honest:

The fact its so small makes it obvious to fake-age. If it was typical scan size and well faked I would be more easily impressed. Has the official site updated any or is it just noting the Sound 4?

Damn Kyoujin, you’re always on top of the news for this game haha. Thanks for keepin it all up.
