First page updated with a link to the discount rate. Who is tryin to team up with the captain this go around?!
I was a little bored, and figured this would help everyone understand how much Evo can cost in the different situations and depending on the rates for whichever nights… I’m not certain that we can book a weeks worth at the Evo rate, can we?
For rooms based on 1-2 people it is the following:
$166.88/per night after tax.
Key:
One person is obviously footing the noted total.
Two people will obviously pay 50:50 of the noted total, but for shits n’ giggles, I’ll do it anyways.
Consider staying 2 nights? $333.76
/2 = $166.88
Consider staying 3 nights? $500.64
/2 = $250.32
Consider staying 4 nights? $667.52
/2 = $333.76
Consider staying 5 nights? $834.40
/2 = $417.20
Consider staying 6 nights? $1001.28
/2 = $500.64
Consider staying 7 nights? $1168.16
/2 = $584.08
For rooms based on 3-4 people it is the following:
$200.48/per night after tax.
Key:
/3 stands for if the room were split up evenly amongst 3 people.
/4 ^^Ditto but with 4 people.
Consider staying 2 nights? $400.96
/3 = $133.65 or /4 = $100.24
Consider staying 3 nights? $601.44
/3 = $200.48 or /4 = $150.36
Consider staying 4 nights? $801.92
/3 = $267.31 or /4 = $200.48
Consider staying 5 nights? $1002.40
/3 = $334.14 or /4 = $250.60
Consider staying 6 nights? $1202.88
/3 = $400.96 or /4 = $300.72
Consider staying 7 nights? $1403.36
/3 = $467.79 or /4 = $350.84
How does the schedule usually work out? Do you need to be avaiable all day Friday or does it pretty much all go down on Saturday/Sunday?
Depends on what games you’re playing, so we won’t know for sure until they post a schedule.
Last year they split SF4 pools into two groups, the first half starting at 9 AM on Friday and the second half starting at 4 PM on Friday. Semi-finals weren’t until Saturday at 4 PM. Other games did all their pools/semis on the same day, I think.
Ah ok, so I’ll probably want to be there early friday or late thursday I suppose.
arriving on thursday has always worked out the best for me, gives you time to relax and get settled in to your room before you have to deal with the madness of evo
Yeah, I’d get there early thursday TBH. gives you time to get your crap up to your room, then take in the whole EVO experience. It’ll be on the strip this year too, so I’m contemplating going down earlier.
Another thing to look out for, is flight prices. If you flew out on like thursday it might be 200 but if you picked wednesday it might be like…100 or something like that.
Yeah, I’ll probably get everything sorted out in late Feb/March - I should have enough money stashed by then to take care of it all. Just trying to kind of get a basic idea of what I want to be doing out now. Thursday afternoon/evening sounds like the time to show up.
I’m actually trying to get there Wednesday, get fucked up. Recover/relax/prepare Thursday, play Friday. Party the rest of the way. It wasn’t a smart idea to get smashed the night before pools lol.
Getting there early to mid-day on Thursday is the only way to go. Getting there Friday and arriving right when EVO starts sucks, and it makes the whole experience feel like it is over way to fast.
I am so down for getting there Wednesday. Vegas will not see it coming, because they cannot see me to begin with.
Yeah, depending on how my job situation looks, I’m going to be trying to hit it up on Wednesday as well. Thursday will be the latest. I want to go out and hit up more of the clubs/bars/whatever.
Depending on some shit happening, I may actually be making it to this.
I’m really hyped now goddamn.
I’ll bring shoes and socks with me this time.
@Jodo: Trust me Thursday is the latest you want to get there, there were people that flew in on Friday morning, only to find out that ALL the morning pools were running at the same time. Jimmy/Peachy was technically disqualified and sent to losers when he got there, but after going diva mode (and since his first opponent hadn’t played his second match yet) they made them play and word on the street is he kinda beasted on him.
I’m not drinking at ALL before pools. I think it’s a bad idea even with a day to recover. Nope. Hell no. I almost lost so many of my matches because I was so fucking hung over. I only made it as far as I did because some nervous ass boxer dropped like 4 ultra juggles.
Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be drinking beforehand either, especially in Vegas because it’s not that hard to just stay perpetually drunk the whole time.
Things I learned from last EVO
Stay in the hotel that the event is at.
Fly with homies.
The end.
Can’t wait for King’s Cup and Freestyle Battles.
Room has been booked. We run this.
getting more than one hour of sleep would probably have helped too
fuckin yoga bitch why did we keep the tv on so long
