It doesn’t matter. Use whatever’s easiest. There is almost no current going through the wires, so any qauge will work.

toodles, just sent paypal order for six axisdapter boards

my aiab stick uses cthulu. thanks for the good work.

Got it. expect a delivery conf number later today.

Are there any other sites you sell the MC Cthulu at that sell it unassembled? I don’t mind soldering, it would make things cheaper and wiring a bit easier (IMO) and I plan on getting an Imp along with it.

Got my MC today, will be working on it this weekend. Thanks for the amazing shipping time, it went perfect with my 4 day vacation this weekend. Will post when i am finished with it!

Great suggestion!!! I implemented it very cleanly but ran into a problem, I HAVE to give the user error and success output, it might as well be in the details box unless you can come up with a better idea?

I looked into libusb but started running into 64 bit issues as Im on Win7 64 right now, if my current approach fails I may fall back on it though.

Those of you waiting for Imps can track the package of boards coming my way:
FedEx tracking number 410750778712
Not showing up yet, but it will in a few.

Hey Toodles, I ordered from ModChipMan and it said they’d be available in about a week.

Since you’re the man, do you know when they’ll be receiving them from you?

Early thanks for answering.

Here is my first ever joystick, thanks to the cthulhu board! w/o this solder free solution, I never would of even attempted this project. The inside & wiring isn’t exactly that clean but it works great  edit oh and I had weeks waiting for the parts so I went ahead and labeled each wire with scotch tape in my free time.

so my last question that i had posted on here seemed to be ignored. not quite sure what a ‘visitor message’ is, so ive subscribed to the thread hoping that i can get some help.
my problem is that when my modded stick is hooked up to a ps2 the game will pause randomly. the 360 and ps3 don’t seem to have any issues. i keep checking all the wires and cant seem to find the problem.
After some testing it seems that it is my directional inputs that cause the game to pause; left and right… up and down as well as the buttons seem to be okay.
if i can’t get a response here, should i PM you toodles? i figured posting in this tread would be better than filling up your inbox.
Thanks so much for any advice. this has been driving me crazy. all i want to do in life is play
3s, and sfIV on the same stick.

Every single problem to date involving getting an MC Cthulhu working on a legit PSX or PS2 has been a wiring problem with the the cable or how the cable was installed to the board. Every single one. So I’d suggest you go over the wiring on the PSX cable, make sure everything’s installed right, and then remove it and redo it anyways.

thanks tough guy.

Hi,

I’v just receive Cthulhu board from modchipman that was fast
Now my stick is complete only the artwork is missing.

Some pictures => http://tomtom2k5.free.fr/stick/index.html

Toodles, sent payment for AXISdapter fully assembled. Thanks again!

Yeah, good point…you could just add a small status bar at the bottom which would just appear when the output box was hidden and would only have 1-line messages like: “Working”, “Cthulhu Detected”, “Finished”, “Error” and no other “technical” stuff that most people don’t care about. You could even just add a small icon with different colors that represent different status. I haven’t done much Win GUI programming, but I don’t think that would be very hard to do

Yeah, I thought 64bit could be a problem, just wanted to bring that up in case you didn’t know of it’s existence

So the verbose output I am planning isnt very verbose, so while I like your idea I think it wont really accomplish much above what Im already planning. Let me get it running and tested and I may revisit this issue. Thx again for the input and please give me any more suggestions.

As far as other USB implementations, Win7 (and I think Vista too maybe) requires MS signed drivers, and a hack to bypass it. So Im tryin to stay away from anything that wants to install its own usb driver for generic usb communication.

Im gunna play w/ Toodles code in Linux tonight and see if I can get the info I need to get a read only version out for test tonight, otherwise Im gunna have to wait for Toodles to get time to gather some info to help me or wait for my cthulhus to arrive.

good news is I got some chedda 2day and will be placing an order w/ Toodles for my MC’s either tonight or Monday!

I just want to say many thanks and F YEAH! i just soldered this bad boy up and ran into some snags because i skipped the part where you have to solder the USB ONLY jumper… but yea works beautifully.

Any info you need, just ask.

I did a few posts back , u might have missed it, no worries though

Basically without having a MC Cthulhu yet to play with, I cant really test my tool, I could use, (if possible?) a raw dump of the raw write/read string querry and the string replacement packets.

Im gunna play with your code on linux tonight so I might be able to forge the requests properly, but w/o a cthulhu Ill not know what the response looks like to parse it properly.

Again only if you have time. Good news though!!!
I just placed a decent size order w/ u!!!
2x each unassembled (MC Cthulhus + parts, Imps, and AXISdapters)
So I imagine by the time the imps get in and you get time to send em to me Im looking at at least next weekend before I get em/assemble them and am ready to test them. So dev on my part will have to be put on partial hold unless I can get those read/write request/responses from you. (But only if you have time, Im not demanding them or anything  )

Thx Toodles
