Flex Mentallo, any good? It’s Morrison and Quitely, baby! A couple years ago I…acquired…this series, and I only read the first few pages of it, realizing that it was so good that I had to save myself like a virgin for the day we would be blessed with a deluxe hardcover edition.
Just got my Thor omniboo. Currently reading issue 4. It’s sad that jms left this book. Truly a shame.
Recently acquired the Immortal Iron Fists vol 1-5 & just finished with the 2nd volume. Man, did that tournament hype me up & now I’m even more pumped on what the Immortal Weapons are gonna do on the 3rd volume. I also got Boom’s Studios Darkwing Duck & I’m looking forward to reading that.
I’m up to issue 9 in the JMS Thor omnibus. Both the story and artwork are really amazing.
DW’s a lot of fun. Every single story has something that makes me laugh out loud! I think the comic is even better than the cartoon was. Which was also very good but still.
That’s good to hear because I loved that show back when I was a kid.
there are a whopping three marvel omniboo dropping this week: Atlantis Attacks, Acts of Vengeance, and Bru Captain America vol. 3. AoV will have a companion omnibus released in a few months collecting more crossover issues. Im hoping we get some of the smaller 90s annuals crossovers in MPC form, like Vibranium Vendetta and Assault on Armor City
I really don’t see the point of making omnibus versions of Atlantis Attacks, Acts of Vengeance, Mutant Massacre, Secret Wars, etc. Who would pay 100 bucks for those? That just blows my mind.
whistles innocently
to be fair, AA is a $75 cover price and Mutant Massacre wasn’t an omnibus but rather a nice OHC for under $40 retail
P. Gorath the first TPB for G.I. Joe ARAH comes out this week. Not sure if you want to get it now or wait until the Classic TPBs catch up though.
Thats good, but what the heck happened to special missions vol. 3?
I will probably go ahead and buy ARAH but wait to read until classic is done

got some new books in the mail: Wildcats 3.0 vol. 1, Hack/Slash Omnibus vol. 1, Return of Bruce Wayne, and a few others. Still working through X-Factor right now…what the heck happened to larry stroman?
return of bruce wayne was bad
P.Gabby, I forget. Did you ever get a chance to read Wildcats Volume 2?
I really liked Return of Bruce Wayne. I feel like most good Batman comics skew one of two ways: crime-based or superhero-based. Return was pretty much all I could want in a superhero Batman epic. It was just one of those series that was bursting with ideas and imagination.
I have all of the Joe Casey trades from vol. 2 but haven’t read them yet. The only Wildcats I’ve read is the complete Alan Moore tpb…and I guess I read the first issue of vol. 1 way back in the day when it was released.
i call that blind morrison love
Pained Auron did you finish the JMS Thor omnibus yet? I have one issue left to go. Epic run. It’s even better than his Spider-Man run. Well the use of magic is naturally a better fit for Thor’s world than Spider-Man’s world of course.
yup yup. finished it a few days after i got it. gonna read second coming, and nemesis this week.
Cool. I’d be curious to see what you think of Volume 2. (The first TPB of Volume 2 has Travis Charest art but is mostly written by Scott Lobdell, so it kinda sucks, writing-wise. I think Casey’s first book does a fine enough job getting you all caught up.)
I would nod my head in agreement with you if you weren’t full of blind Deadpool love.
Some interesting books from today’s marvel solits:
