And I said eventually. Like, the only way for me to buy this around release time is if it’s so hot it will keep a homeless man warm at night. Unless we’re talking Treyarch, I think I’m done buying these games on release. I’m talking WAY down the line here.
The thing that ruined MWR was Raven claiming that there would be no weapon dlc yet they put it in. Meanwhile, IW puts in dlc guns in Infinite Warfare and makes them obtainable for everyone.
It’s more like Activision is holding a gun to their head and forced them to do it. IW is dead already…theu can make DLC guns available for everyone but no one cares to play. I can’t even tell how many are playing at a time. I know why it was changed but still.
Agreed. The drought is real. I only have 3 games for my PS4 and I don’t play any of them. In fact I’m not even sure when I last played my PS4…maybe sometime last fall? I’ll be getting ww2 for my xbone so that won’t help either.
MAYBE the DLC shenanigans played a part in the ruination, but you can never know for sure until you see a way sharper sales drop than last year. With DLC sales (3 Billion last year), it’s obvious the people that rail against DLC are a minority.
What mainly killed MWR is the game being outdated and still having the crap netcode the current games have. I got insta-killed and no-sold on that last vital bullet more than with the original. That’s bad, considering the original is 10 years old this year. And as good as nostalgia is, it can be boring to just have 3-5-7 killstreaks and the M16/M40 everywhere. If you’ve played the old COD4, the remaster isn’t really worth playing to start with. Never mind the DLC.
I do plan on a WWII copy…but again lest we forget the CoD cycle. Biggest Q is how will MP be exciting and fun again. Will they go the bare bones route? Attachments…will they be more liberal instead of being authentic in MP? Streaks? If they even address Quickscoping (since they LOOK to be less crazy) I’ll pay attention.
I bitched about the same thing regarding the last few cod and someone on here got a hair up his ass and said NO NO NO, that’s a RARE complaint and you the only one Durrr Durr. The online experience bombed and majority of complaints that was heard in lobbies wasn’t dlc but how fucking awful the matches were.
To be fair, it DOES sound like some scrub shit when people say it. But I don’t remember having these problems as much in MW1 and MW2 (though I thought MW2 was garbage for a host of other reasons). As soon as Treyarch became the big dogs and Infinity Ward was burned with that lawsuit, it’s damn near company policy with these games that your first few bullets don’t count sometimes.
