I won’t lie, I’m appreciating what I.Ward is going through a little more after seeing COD4R. For some reason, I thought it would just be COD4 with slightly upgraded graphics. Now I see they’re changing everything they can without touching gameplay. That’s at least commendable.
As for I.Warfare, it’s looking decent to me. I hate that they brought back riot shields and have an ability where killstreaks don’t reset after death. Also, it feels like they’re complicating the specialist system just to make things different from BO3. Time will tell though. If this game comes from behind to be at least as good as BO3 with better hit detection, I’m all for it. I just can’t shake the notion they’re going to fuck things up somehow.
Second Edit: I’m finding out that Raven Software, not IW, is developing COD4 Remastered. IW has to be involved somewhat, so I don’t know if I should take away those extra cool points I was giving IW. Whatever.
lol holy shit that is hilarious. So I take it we have to go back to playing with generic goons and bot looking dudes instead of our cool ass specialist?
Seems that way which for me sucks as I liked the story backgrounds that BO3 had but I know many players didn’t care for it. That balls multiplier did make me laugh. But would the sound effect for getting a headshot change?
I don’t know if specialists going away means character customization goes away, but I could be wrong. I feel they would have been advertising that if you could.
Still hilarious how people are already saying that IW will be PAY 2 WIN when IW said themselves that you get currency from playing to make your own shit.
Activision could throw a wrench in those works. You don’t know. They could tell IW to make the good parts of an “epic” gun really expensive to get in comparison to just paying for them. That’s IF you earn salvage straight up, with no BS/obfuscation like Cryptokeys. You never know where Activision’s greed might butt in.
Activision isn’t treating COD and its fans like the hand that feeds them, because they have other franchises to feed them. COD is the goose laying golden eggs though, and Activision is willing to abuse that goose however as long as it doesn’t die.
I’m seriously hoping I.Warfare isn’t basically pay to win with all these gun variants, but I know I.Ward doesn’t hold all the cards here.
Oddly enough AW I always got the good weapons to drop without paying for anything. BO3 I’d say half of what I got was from cryptokeys and other half was from buying points during deals.
