Beat Torgue’s with a friend last night. Pretty underwhelming; we beat it in about 2.5 hours, though we didn’t do sidequests. It feels sparse and rushes the “plot” along too quickly. The maps are very open for very little content, plus the LOOTSPLOSION!!! is paltry. Oh well. Now we can farm Pete. And Mr. Satan/Hercule voicing Torgue is a redeeming factor.
That thread was gay as fuck. Lol, anyway I already have Sledges Shotgun and like 3 different CC’s, they need to put in new gear since they have this type of control. Also Pete is the easiest boss to solo right now. You can just jump on the ledge inbetween the two pillars/pipes on his stage.

Just make sure if he is on the ledge too, you are up there when you kill him so you can access loot. Seems to not work when you add another player. Someone at Gearbox is looking out.
The shotgun “nerf” actually turned out to be a bug and was fixed in the latest patch. Though I don’t know if consoles have gotten the patch yet. It also fixed Deathtrap healing enemy shields (not any of Deathtrap’s other annoying bugs, but at least it’s something).
A couple things I would have changed in the Torgue dlc. Probably bad ideas, but whatever.

[]After the LOOTSPLOSION!!!, a Vault Guardian pops out and Mr. Torgue screams his head off about how fucking awesome it is. Which is compounded by the fact that this Guardian is made of explosions (don’t question) or is all about explosions, and you have to fight him as a raid boss. After you kill him, Torgue actually stops yelling for a bit and says how sad he is that you killed an alien made entirely of explosions, then goes back to shouting. After all, the vaults were designed to contain uber-powerful Eridian weapons in the form of aliens, so why not? The only problem would be fighting him post-game, though maybe that could be done elsewhere.
[]Give Scooter a role. This DLC is about explosions and cars and bikes and has a chop-shop aesthetic, so it’s practically calling his name. Instead, he just stands around in Moxxi’s bar like some kid who came to work with his mom. Make a questline for him about gathering parts and killing stuff, obtaining a bike (come on, those things are made for co-op) and a unique blue weapon at the end.

Killed Pyro Pete a bunch today. He dropped two Legendaries, The Black Hole Shield and Sledges Shotgun. I already had Sledges Shotgun though. He also dropped a 25% Pistol Damage Relic and a 29% cooldown relic.
As far as shotguns go, I found a Bandit shotgun that had 7140x 16 damage, making it the most damaging shotgun I own.
I also got the Badass Creeper to drop two Blockhead Shotguns back to back. I was hoping to find a good Electric shotgun for my Gaige, but had no luck.
Just finished farming Warrior and got a ton of Splatguns and two Impalers (neither Alkaline, but one was an improvement to my old Impaler), but no CC. Stop taunting me RNG.
Tomorrow is grenades, so maybe I’ll finally get a Leech. Maybe.
If anyone on Xbox live wants any good gear just hit me up.
I myself need to do some more level 50 side quest, specifically the Firehawk one and the Rakkaholics, but the latter isn’t showing up. I guess I gotta go through some random ones as prerequisites in order to get it to show up?
Had and idea for a new character. Make it a crazy rock in roll character that’s kinda like a cross between the man with no name and a mariachi. Their ability could be to attack with the guitar while wailing out some sick tunes(deeeeedily dooo!!!) and smash fools on the skull all Kabonk like. Either that or make them like a female version of Antonio Banderas lol.
Sheeeit, I didn’t think I would enjoy leveling up the Siren, but it’s been fun… mine is level 26 now, focusing on Cataclysm for now(just put my first point in Blight Phoenix 'cause SHE CAN’T CONTROL IT!); Motion will be where the left-over points go. My legit non-powerleveled Gunzerker just hit level 43, and (legit)Zero is 42. Axton is still 45. I’m definitely at this point now with Rampage-focused Sal where I can have another Gunzerk session ready to go before the prior one is finished. The game-plan there:
(^an Unstoppable Berserker class mod I have boosts Last Longer and Yippi Ki Yay… YKY is up to 9/5, and I think I have Last Longer showing “8/5”…sooo nice) I have one E-tech shotgun that shoots electricity that just rapes the shields of these enemies with the quickness, even though I got it back when this Sal was level 36 or so…usually it’s paired up with an explosive shotgun, and currently the top pair of guns is set to a corrosive SMG and a regular non-elemental one which sometimes gets swapped out for other things. The shotgun duo for gunzerking is quite ridiculous though…haha, so much fun.
Nigga add me so I can throw you this Legendary Berserker class mod. I don’t think I will even be using shotties anymore at this rate. I think this fibber got me spoiled. @JanoDX you need to hook a negro up with that Legendary Hunter mod.
Hey guys just got the game.
I dont play FPs or RPGs, but am enjoying the game even if I dont know what Im doing lol
I m using Maya lvl 10 just finished the Firehawk mission. I seem to die a lot.
I use the badass points bonuses but dont know which are the best.
Any general tips? I put 2 points into Ward and Sweet Release, but was looking for advice on the other skills.
also, any other tips regarding guns? Most of my guns seem to be green Jakob pistols, and machine guns, and a sniper rifle that does 116.
Maya’s preferred weapons are Smg’s and shotties but she can be good with snipers too, especially later on in the game when Phaselock lets you get free crits on enemies suspended. The main thing to remember is what role you want her to do, and never be afraid to respec. Shit I will respec 3 times in a minute just to make sure I got shit the way I want it for a specific situation. What are you playing on?
Wow the Warrior finally gives me something after all this time. Not only that, but he does it back to back. I just got a Slag CC and Fire Leech Grenades.
Sirens work well with elemental weapons. Fire is effective versus Flesh, Corrosive beats Armor(a Greenish Yellow health bar means they have armor), and Shock weapons beat shields(blue health bar).
Maliwan manufactured weapons have the best elemental damage and effect chance. Fire weapons are extremely effective against bandits and non shielded enemies. This is especially true on your first play through because there are a lot less enemies with shields.
Once you get to Sanctuary, go to Moxies Bar, and give her tips until she gives you “Miss Moxie’s Good Touch”(fire) and “Bad Touch”(corrosive). These weapons are very useful early on.
There are two common Siren builds. Medic and Crowd Control.
A Medic build is not recommended if you plan on mostly play Solo. Medic is Extremely useful in Co-op, especially when fighting Bosses. Medic Builds are a mix of her Cataclysm and Harmony Tree. The Harmony skill called “Res” is very important because it lets you revive people instantly by Phaselocking them. Lookout for “Nurse” class mods, they work well with these builds.
Crowd Control works well in both Solo and Co-op.
Crowd Control builds are a mix of Cataclysm and Motion Trees. These builds are used to effect large groups of enemies and deal damage over time. Lookout for “Witch” or “Binder” class mods, they work well here.
Here are some builds I use. These are in no way the definitive way to go, just examples. The items and class mods you find will influence your choices. You can also reset your skills whenever you want.
Yeah Moxxies guns are a life saver, especially playing solo because they heal you at a rate 2% of the damage you inflict, except for Rubi which actually heals you 12% of the damage you inflict. You get that from the Rakkaholics mission given to you from Mordecai if you choose the Moxxie option. Which I need to do so I can get my level 50 version.
Edit: You might also want to snag this gun since you are in that area.
Pete can (and will) jump onto the ledge after switching to his Caustic stage. Simply jump down and stick close to one of the two pillars near the ledge and he’s yours to take shots at. When he starts revving up his nova, crouch and hug the pillar. You won’t get ignited.
It’s showcased here at 3:38

The only noteworthy drop was a (Rubberized, bleh) Bonus Package that dropped from one of the rat adds that my friend killed, of all things.
One annoying thing was that after I killed Pete the second time, I couldn’t glitch back up the ledge. I would reach a certain height and start sliding back down. There wasn’t anything up there that looked interesting (not orange), but hopefully that doesn’t happen when a Legendary does drop.
