The irony in this post is ridiculous when, without actually thinking your post through before hitting the 'post reply’
button, people were already speaking out about it. It’s not just a few thousand either. It’s in the hundreds of thousands
of ‘fans’. I put quotations around that word because DICE (while they won’t admit it) is losing their core fanbase, that
stood behind them since 1942, for what they created, not what it’s currently trying to be. Just for the $$$.
It’s pathetic and disheartening at the same time because no matter how hard you keep trying to love DICE for what
they’ve accomplished—more n’ more obviously they’re the next developer who only sees $$$ and only cares to
build games that will outsell their previous at the complete destruction of their original creation, and what used to be fun.
BF3 is still a technical marvel (when FB2 isn’t crashing your systems, or other), but I do fear for the franchises future
for what made it so amazingly sandbox-y and fun in the first place. When the tech demos for FrostBite started rolling
out—that’s when I finally gave up on everything else and said: “Hellz frikkkin yeah that shit looks bonkers. I want.”
People that complain about Close quarters being like COD are just idiots. Plain and simple. It’s 1 Piece of DLC, not a game. This simply adds a new dimension to the game, it’s great from both a business and player perspective. It’s a FPS frachise wisely adapting to the winds of change without compromising its own integrity. You can nitpick and bitch all day, but at the end of it, you’re just simply wrong. BF will never be COD simply because it’s an idea that has been played to death, and the sales of COD are going to start falling rapidly each year, people are less hype, it’s rehashed and over saturated. BF / DICE / EA are going to make a smart business move through catering to the COD market whilst only using a small fraction of its development team.

AK + End Game both reinforce the BF we all love, CQ just brought in more players. Why do you care? It’s more or less free XP.

The guy above you already laid it out, not much else to be said. BTW BO2 already has more preorders then the original BO with very little gameplay footage even shown yet. EA will make BF more COD like if they see more sales there, to think otherwise is asinine.
Then less of this COD players are going to be on BF3.
Contradiction-Ception.
Whilst I accept every FPS borrows a tiny bit from COD, BF will never be COD. And do you wanna’ know a huge secret? BF3 biggest selling point?
BF3 is not COD.
BF3 is the next “Biggest” thing, So naturally BF3 wants to keep these new customers, I bet they do not give a fuck about your opinion, they want a quality game for the masses, they put more time, effort, quality blah blah into it, in order to make it the better game.
Yet they still leave the core of BF3 intact.
It’s just basic business. Keep the new audience, get more money, keep injecting the game with content. What are you struggling to see here?
BO2 is hilarious. They used elementary marketing schemes of “Ohhh letZ set it inn da futurrr hurr durrr” in order to make everyone buy it.

Ok so for the past couple of days I have decided to take a break from CQC and just see exactly how my play has changed back in the old maps. I racked up about a 3.5 kd for the day and got about 950 SPM and my KPM jumped way up compared to how it was before. I was normally getting about 1.3 kpm but today, even on the larger maps, I was consistently getting around 1.9-2 kpm with every weapon I used. So the effects of CQC have so far had a really good effect on my play, I still prefer the normal modes but I will definitely play CQC every so often because it really helps you step it up.
I think CQ has made me worse haha, When I see someone in the distance I completely forget to lead my shots.
Rolling nothing but the AN94 at the minute, Got the 3.4x Scope with just a heavy barrel. Has to be the best gun I’ve ever used, Switch it up for a Kobra in CQ and you’re golden. Amazing weapon.
G3A3 is amazing, it’s definitely a gun I will go back to once I have all the unlocks for the new weapons. I will probably mix between that and the SCAR-L in assault class. I also found the M27 is decent with the new HB. Its quite like the L86 but reloads faster so the L86 has been pretty short lived for me really. Its kind of accurate but just the support class in general could do with a major overhaul from DICE.
I use Kobra, Bipod and HB. There isn’t any need for the grip at all as the recoil is so tight and with the slow RoF it is pretty easy to handle so any half decent player won’t bother with that. Might try it with laser sight as CQC fights can be tough work and that may really give it an edge but I haven’t tried that yet.
Got my 50 L96 kills, it is a shame they fucked up the sites on it and still will not fix it. Probably would have had 20-30 more kills with a regular bolt action if it wasn’t for those fucking misaligned sights. Got my EOD Bot kill, 2 actually one was a headshot. Never using that piece of shit again.
Weird. I thought they fixed it so it didn’t fire offset anymore. EoD was the worst one, i got lucky and managed to finish off a sniper who laid down right in front of me after he got sniped so I placed my Bot down and probed him in the anal region, alien style.
I told you why I’m NEVER going to attempt the “Location Scout” assignment, and that’s pretty much why. Still say getting an EOD bot kill was worse than playing 5 rounds of SQDM. Good thing both of the guns for those lame assignments were worth it.
Yeh I had a go tonight and its definitely nothing like the L96 on Rainbow 6, I loved it on that. Shame DICE can’t get it right. Why did you need 50 kills with the L96 specifically?
Oh yeh. I think I just used the holo sight on the L96 for that. It didn’t seem offset with the holo sights but its probably because I just got up close with it and switched to my 93R if I missed.
I finished my last game today 500 points off levelling up. If only I had joined in the game a little bit earlier. Seeing a full experience bar but not quite levelling up feels almost as bad as when you lose at Street Fighter when it looks like your opponent has no health left. So close but just not quite enough and now it has to linger there for a few days.
