Yeah, but that’s also a really fun way to do Recon anyway. You can actually do serious damage with a sniper rifle and an ACOG and keeping on the move with the rest of your squad, I ran around with an M98B with one the other day, did zero camping, zero long range and constantly went for objectives, people get pissy when your Barret is suddenly one-hit-killing them in CQB, it’s also really fun watching people panic when you’re headshotting the crap out their buddies instead of fumbling for a sidearm. That said, I’m doing it wrong, you’re meant to do it with a semi-auto, but I just wanted to give it a shot with the rifle I most use.
Other than that, when I do aggressive recon, I usually take the USAS that everyone is a big big fan of, or I take the UMP-45 (I really want to put some time into the P90 and try that though).
I’ve had kills well over 1km, the problem is, I didn’t get the headshot so I was unlucky. Hitting a target over 1km isn’t necessarily difficult, but getting the headshot is when the target can be on the run, in and out of cover, up and down gradients etc, so it’s tough to accurately lead them into the headshot, campers are easy game though, sometimes they just stay prone and shuffle back an inch like it’s going to save them. Sniping at range does become very intuitive on where your crosshair height should be depending on distance.
This game has some really odd hitboxes that can make sniping irritating though (not to mention invisible walls, etc), I’ll have my M98B aimed at a stationary guys’ forehead at close enough range to not care about bullet drop, but I’ll miss. I shoot again, same height level, though this time slightly to the side of their head and bang, dead. What the fuck? How do I hit by missing?
I use the AS VAL. or the 870+Tac Light if I want to troll people…I only use the USAS-12 with Support class cause that thing runs out of ammo annoyingly fast.

I only take the USAS because I like to hear crying after I’ve shot someone, if I can truly ruin someone’s day with a video game weapon, well, that’s like capture all objectives at once Ammo defintely sucks, but then single shot is best to go for if you have no support (or a different weapon!), but then if you’re working with a squad and moving with them, your ammo supply shouldn’t be a problem, it depends on the map too really, Caspian is a lot harder to stumble on a random supply drop than say Siene Crossing.
You know, it’s funny, I tried the IRNV a little pre-nerf and whilst it was fun, it was pretty obvious that it wasn’t going to last - seeing people on the other side of the map is wayyyyyyyy too powerful. I really don’t miss it though, it made a lot of people very very lazy.
Seeing someone light up like a jewell over 1km away is OP. A regular IRNV won’t do that when it’s 4x magnification. Something like a Starlight will, but that’s a much larger scope. IRNV made bad players average and encouraged camping on a lot of maps.
No, ‘silencers’ do not exist. If someone actually knows the correct word for whatever, and they’re using some ill-conceived
slang instead, then let them be the idiot in the room.
There’s a reason they’re called suppressors and not ‘silencers’, because there is no contraption for rifles/handguns
(yet) that will completely silence them. The sound is being suppressed. Yes, apparently this needed to

After playing around with the FAMAS I fail to see why people bitch about it so much. Probably Carry-over hate from MW2/Black Ops. It’s got the worst spread values for an AR and the longest reload. I’ll stick with my AEK-971/F2000 thanks. Now I may have to go back to the USAS-12 and figure out why Frag rounds make it so annoying even though I just sprayed n prayed like everybody else seems to do.
Why is killing people with the 870 so satisfying? Also I’ve been noticing random people using the Saiga and Dao-12 with frag rounds like it’s some ghetto USAS. GTFO with that XD.
Then you don’t know a damn thing that you’re talking about. The US firearms code itself states that the terms “Firearms silencer” and “firearms supressor” are synonimous. Also, the term silencer is not slang and comes from the development of firearm supressors using old techniques from the automotive industry to make quiter engines and those mufflers were referred to as “silencers” and funnily enough, they weren’t silent because they were mufflers, this name [silencer] was also early adopted for firearms. Maybe you should know where these terms come from first before you start telling people how it would be in a gun store, because if you said that around our range, you would be the villiage idiot, purely for your arrogance despite having no knowledge of firearm history. Next time, save yourself the humiliation.
