Battlefield 3 will be getting a massive update coming in two days (Tuesday) at 8 am GMT (3 am EST). The total size of the patch comes in at 2gb. The reason for the file size being so large is that the patch carries a large part of the Back to Karkand expansion pack (due out on the 6th for those with PS3’s). I am a certified fraud. IRNV nerf into the ground means I can’t ez mode it. Looks like I have to learn to use the holo. Which is super awesome, btw.
I feel the IRNV was nerfed TOO hard. I played a couple rounds with the new one and there’s almost no point to using it now. Oh well, it’s better for the game anyways.

Anyone else ever seen a guy beeing invincible? Happened to me yesterday for the first time, twice. Dude started slicing my team up because he ran out of bullets haha. Happened on bazaar and metro (conquest). I suspect that it has something to do with revives. I shot a guy who got revived yesterday and it looked like he was still alive, but I couldn´t hit him anymore. Then he took off and started floating towards me,sideways,still prone,no animation…and I exploded!?
yeah, if you get revived like as soon as you die, you go invincible. you can still be killed by explosives tho. as far as i can tell it only happens on infantry maps. grand bazar, siene crossing, and metro
i had it happen to me. you dont even know youre inv at first. i got into a firefight, and im like holy hell these guys cant shoot. then i realized i was invulnerable and started running into enemies to test it.

What he is trying to say is in the Cod thread he will post an article, comment on it. Everyone will ignore it repost the same article, make the same comment, then other people will start talking about the article. Basically they are ostracizing him because they don’t like him. At least that is what it seems.

The game feels a little slower paced after trying it out last night. I’m going to get back on in a bit.

I’m glad it’s nerfed. I always felt like i was cheating when i used it, and if i didn’t use it I always felt like the other team was, which they were most of the time. IRNV was most definitely broken.

Honestly, IRNV was the only thing I did not like in the game. Good to see the patch notes agree.
Also, am I the only gamer alive that feels like Smoke grenades should be used a lot more in this game? Metro? Tehran? Anyone? D:

They kind of fucked over tubes and smoke by making it compete with med packs, which seems to be what they wanted.
IRNV was just too good as it was, it’s one thing to say “stop moaning and use it yourself”, but it’s still pretty lame being able to see people across the other side of a map through it. I think it only should have been decent on Metro and Tehran anyway, they should have made it situational rather than brutally overpowered regardless of the light levels around you.
Hell yes, smokes are amazing to push up into the ticket office on Metro.
Well, a medpack won’t help a losing team struggling to capture “B” on Operation Metro. If people just blasted all the 3 entrances with smokes and rushed the place…Well, that needs players who have enough common sense to actually cooperate, doesn’t it? Need to find myself a group like that.
Point being; every piece of equipment is situational. So use it. Not everyone has to have a medkit. The playerbase is limiting itself.
Exactly. Why have tons of different sights and optics that suit different combat scenarios, when you get a “beats-all” IRNV? Not to mention it beats the purpose of the graphics engine if you spend half the time looking at a green screen.
A slight nerf for the flashlight when in broad daylight would be nice as well. In a building? Sure, blind the hell out of me. But not outside where the Sun shines five million times more than any artificial light on the planet, lol.
It’s not an issue, just a “small hole in the wall of authenticity”. =)
Sometimes I do not think people realize they can actually turn their flashlights off. I just think they need to make it to where they do not work in the daytime, kind of like how they actually do not work in the daytime.
