Thanks for putting those up, 5star’s Ken is solid. I loved the part where he does the s.mp AA into throw after having the dp followup parried by nitto the first time. Also, why do mirror-matches allways look so bad? 
Emphy was playing pretty good too. Makes me wonder if the whole thing about Japan owning the US in 3S really holds true. They’re still better but I don’t think the gap is as big as Evo’s results make it look.

Probably not, sorry to piss on your parade but from what I know these guys don’t play on their own stick, often enough not even on sanwa or seimitsu materials. During SBO4 BillyKane and Ricky Ortiz both won 1 round. All US and EU teams were OCV’ed. I think this gap is still pretty big considering that. The gap looked pretty small seeing on some of the vids, but have you ever seen Nitto screwing up multiple Genei Jin combos in one game during KSK? Have you seen Umehara missing anything at all save for the last EVO? Really, looking at that almost looks asif they have been severely drugged or given broken sticks.

yes they had their own custom hrap they shared or their own hrap they brought and daigo was playing shitty cause he hasn’t practiced anything but cvs2 (this is directly from daigo)
and while the gap is getting smaller you guys also forget to factor in that this is pool play and its highly possibly they are sand bagging don’t get ahead of yourselfs yes we’re catching up but we’re not close yet
