He won’t. The only time I’d want Tebow as our QB is if I wanted to tank and I wanted Chip to be fired for his ego.
Tebow is not a good QB. Hell, it’s bad that he’s now a worse QB than Matt Barkley.
Sure, he’s a good runner but we already had days where he had the Read Option with Shady and Vick, and Vick was a MUCH better passer than Tebow ever was. Still wasn’t good enough to win when it mattered most.
No, he’s a terrible QB and to be completely honest he really DOESN’T deserve a spot on many rosters because of that fact. If he were to accept a position change then everyone benefits, himself included but he refuses to. I mean, don’t get me wrong I completely understand why he doesn’t want to do that and it’s his right. But his play as a QB simply doesn’t cut it and unlike some of his past teams, our Defense is NOWHERE near good enough to cover up that deficiency he brings to an offense.
We can’t even really keep Tebow on the Roster either just for gadget plays. Maybe if we had a more healthy QB starting but we have Bradford. So we need a 3rd Stringer to be ready to go. And while it still stuns me to say it, I trust Barkley far more than Tebow right now unless he regresses. Also, since we’re carrying 4 RBs this year with Barner likely our starting Punt Returner it becomes a lot harder to justify 4 QBs on the roster.
Ken, you better hustle your ass down to Lambeau and beat Rodgers’ ass until he agrees to play tomorrow. Green Bay better not be robbing us of some goddamn defensive work just because of Jordy.
Screw that. Our Defense needs to gel more but I don’t want them getting complacent when you’re throwing Tolzien and the backup line at us. Why you trying to make the Defense soft?
So apparently Chip’s reason for trading for Bradford is because he remembered what happened with Brees back in 2006 when the Dolphins passed on him due to his then recent shoulder surgery. He thought that since Brees overcame the injury and became a Top 5 QB he thought the same (or similar) would happen with Bradford.
Whatever Chip smokes, I want some of it because it must be some good shit with logic like that.
His line of logic isn’t that off though. The problem is that it worked for the Saints because they got Brees relatively cheap. Chip did not. Chip still has to pay a Number 1 Draft Pick salary for a year and then if he actually lives up to potential, a crap ton more money afterwards if they’re even able to keep him not to mention what we had to give up just to trade for him to begin with.
Bradford has the potential, but we just have no reason to believe in his ability to stay healthy. Having 3 good RBs should help though.
