Teams in fucking Ohio can’t even control their players, can only imagine how millionaire entitled primadonnas would fair in Sin City.
That’s the thing though, I know Vegas is Vegas but there are places for people to get fucked up everywhere. Just sack their ass if they do, write something into their contract since they’re in Vegas. Adults that are getting paid millions of dollars should behave better.

Regardless, many of the teams are owned and operated by people who are mercenary as hell and I’m sure most of them have run the numbers where if they could make more money by being in Vegas they’d be in Vegas already.
Seems likely that the cost of players lost to misbehavior is tallied up as an operating expense on a spreadsheet somewhere, and while that line is probably much bigger in Vegas than in most places there must be other monetary factors also keeping teams out.
Makes me wonder what the largest areas are without a team… I guess Portland would need to be a decent sized one. Orlando is a big city but there are already three teams in Florida. Columbus is another big one but you have teams in Cinci and Cleveland.
I don’t think Columbus would give a single shit about pro ball. Not now anyway.
They turn up to Buckeyes games, so you’d figure since the interest in Football is already there they might support a professional team.
I’ve always found it strange they have an Ice Hockey team but don’t even have a Baseball one as well.
Cinci doesn’t have a hockey team and has a baseball team so that’s probably the trade off.
I think the bucks are the reason they wouldn’t show up to professional games haha.

I’m starting to wonder how much of Johnny’s antics are an attempt to get out of Cleveland… if he really didn’t want to play for the Browns getting cut would be a great way to get onto another team as with his college pedigree you know at least someone is going to give him another shot.

This popped up in a baseball group on facebook I follow.
I wonder what type of analytics he wants to apply to the game. Biometric stuff has to already be there to some extent and even if it isn’t I just assume that players aren’t going to be operating near 100% at any point past week 3. Isn’t biometrics one of the things that Chip tried, and failed, to institute during his tenure? Maybe DePodesta can get a more charismatic guy than Chip, who supposedly couldn’t connect with players, to get his point across that tracking some of this stuff is good for the players themselves.
I’m also super curious if they have some idea about ‘advanced stats’ they they plan on looking at. Football doesn’t seem as “easy” to break down since plays are about a million times more dynamic than baseball.
Analytics doesn’t work in football, there are too many variables. Baseball has variables but it’s a vastly simpler game.

I disagree about analytics being useless. I think they’re much much much harder to apply to football because the game isn’t scored as neatly as baseball is.
You’re going to need about a metric fuck load of video interns who can figure out what either side is trying to run on each play and then “score” individual match ups.
I agree numbers have a small purpose (maybe using the word dumb was wrong)

I’m only surprised that his escapades aren’t more drug fueled.
I know he was out of control in college but at some point people do tend to mature. Jameis looks completely different now and it’s only his first season. Cam has turned a page as well. For Johnny to do what he’s doing on such a regular basis makes me think that he doesn’t want to play at all. He hasn’t retired though which makes me think he still wants to play just not for Cleveland.
