His contract was up because he didn’t except the 1-year extension they offered before the season started. Thus in order to keep him, they had to give him a new contract.

You went from Super Bowl aspirations to not even winning the division with a Texans team going through 4 QBs. And unlike the Cowboys, they can’t go back on the excuse that not having Luck screwed them because they were horrible even when Luck was in healthy.

Luck was playing hurt all season. It was one of those situations where they thought he’d get through it, become his old self and then they could leak the story to make dude look like Superman, instead they had to leak it to save his reputation.

Regardless, they had every reason not to re-sign him.

Hmm, well that’s fine, if they get rid of the GM then maybe Pagano will be fine.

Yeah it made for a awkward press conference because I don’t think they had the greatest relationship as coach and GM

The main reason is gambling, Vegas pushed for a NBA team for close to a decade pretty hard and Stern kept telling him no because the temptation to gamble would be too much.

Most of the major sports leagues refuse to put a team in Vegas due to the city’s connection with gambling.

Surely organizations full of grown men could control their players. There are minor teams in Vegas and surely it would be lucrative with 2 million people in the metro and all the tourists.

i agree with all except my packers, im not real bullish on them lately, i could very well see us letting jordan reed put up 150 and a touch easily. and our offense is gutter trash. but we will see how the game plays out.

I think the Packers could lose. I think the Texans might win but it would be considered an upset. The Chiefs are on a streak but so are the Texans, they’ve both turned their seasons around. Both of them had pretty easy schedules outside of a few good wins and both had bad losses. I’m giving it to the Texans because they’re playing at home and they’re fired up. Having a team that expects to win playing in their home stadium in the post-season is big.
