i’ve only caught a couple episodes this season, but my impression from those is that the writing has dropped off hard…dude’s speech to pam about how she should stay in New York for her art sounded so forced and contrived, something the show has managed to avoid imo. am i right or did i just catch shitty episodes
Who does “you guys” equal? I thought “you guys” = everybody in the office, but that didn’t make sense (of course). I got it now though. You guys = Tim, Dwight, and Michael only. Thanks.
Question for everyone: What do you think Michael’s mom was going to finish saying as Michael cut off the phone?
It went: “Are you (hang up phone)”
I imagine she was going to say, “Are you drunk?”
As much as it sucks about Pam and New York, it makes sense. I can see Jim taking up a job in NY now too. Or at least them talking about it.
I really liked the episode. It seemed to have a sort of “classic” feel - more about what’s going on in the office rather than the relationships and stuff outside of the work place. Sure, there was a lot of Angela/Andy as well as Jim talking to Pam, but the heart of the episode was about the evaluations and there were good gags on Dwight.
he coulda avoided all of this if he just went with the better looking and funnier Karen.
If he stuck with Karen, he probably would have the job at corporate and be in New York.
That would’ve been a great storyline with Pam also going to New York for art school, but too bad Rashida Jones decided to leave for a failed sitcom.
so that’s why she left the show. what a dumb move.
its gonna be pam moves back, and she is gonna bum off jim while she searches for work, and or she tags team the receptionist role with bj, which would be funny. then throughout season 6 she will have some good hits, and some misses, and then closer to the end of season 6, she will make the decision to move. at this point the show could do so many surprises, but before i address that, lets think of this.
pam’s character is really nothing without her being the receptionist, and being jim’s tag team partner, so the mere fact that she is going to art school, should give us some heads up that maybe some major changes are coming to the show. i mean, they did it a little with jan popping up here and there, but eh. i just dont think they can do much with pam for to long without her actually working there. i dont know
i would like to see jim and pam work out, but although jim would do anything for her, pam got that bitch up in her, and i think she is going to make a rough decision on them both, and the underlying truth of the show is, drum roll, never trust a bitch who is engaged, flirting with you, plays your face, then breaks off her marriage for you, and then later gets with you. something aint right up stairs.
anyways, jan’s old position is open, so i think they will probably go the route of hiring jim for the position, which will be all roses for the show, and setup for jim to still frequently visit his old office and play jokes, and still interact with everyone, while also maintaining his relationship. contrary to what i posted, i think this would be an excellent route for the show.
now with andy, they should write in something happening, where he slipped up, and like at his bachelor’s party, he made out with a stripper, and dwight has it on camera, now unknowing to andy and blonde boobs, dwight sets up a projector, saying he is going to project something nice in the background at their wedding, and its andy making out with the stripper. the whole thing gets called off, dwight gets back with angela, and andy spends alot of season 6 being a drunk and partying, and half assing his work, until michael steps in, and they have a guys night out, which is when michael runs into the hr broad, and andy meets some other random chick, preferably a hot black girl, and then boom.
god im so nice
well, they ended that seperation pretty quickly…so pam is back at reception, ryan and kelly are back together and michael chewed out david wallace. some funny moments, but more of a transitional episode than a stand alone one. it basically setup issues and situation for future episodes…
I tried not to catch any spoilers for this last episode as I haven’t watched it yet, but yeah I’ll agree with anyone who says that the writing has dropped to a certain extent. The show is still very funny and it has its charm, but the writing of season 2 and 3 was just miles above that of 4 (which wasn’t bad really, but got much better nearer to the end imo). Hopefully 5 shapes up.
Karen left office for a sitcom? Shit. Her and Jim’s encounters after their breakup would have made for some great episodes. I was WONDERING why it felt so abrupt. They managed to kill her off cleverly, but yeah it was way too ‘wtf just happened’.
has anyone heard anything about the office spin-off?
another decent ep. i didnt catch it the first time, but the second time watchin it i heard Dwight in the background when Andy made that call.
glad they addressed Michael’s frustration over Holly leaving. didnt expect dude to confront Wallace like that though.
and nope, no words about the spin-off. last thing i heard was it was suppose to premier after the super bowl but they switched it w/ the regular office instead.
“He says it’s cool!”
“Can I see that?”
cut to Daryl walking to his truck happily
Daryl is awesome.
Gotta love that Daryl “massa set me free” walk.
This is one of the few episodes that I wouldn’t mind watching again for some reason. Maybe I really enjoyed the bonding between Andy and Oscar.
what a weird ep. the office status quo is in effect. everything back to normal. that and the ep. is a letdown. i dont think i  once, maybe a chuckle at dwight’s story at the end
“hey jim, your gonna buy the house that you used to pee your bed in?”
“um…yeah, i guess i am”
i found that to be funny for some reason
“NOOOOOOOO GOD! NO GOD PLEASE NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO–”
It’s mean…but the ends justify the mean.

Easily one of my favourite episodes of the season. Other than the House story, they weren’t serious at all, just going into the old school absurd plotlines.
i think my wife got annoyed by michael in this one.
“just pretend we’re talking until the cops leave”
i love creed…
LOLLL. dwights story at the end was so sick.
