The Office (US)

That’s the thing… Pam got the “letter of acceptance” from the Pratt Design Institute. But this is what she said to Jim, “I just saw congratulations at top and my name at the end!!! Then I ran to find you!!”…

I suspect it is a Dear John letter… which would break Pam’s little heart.

ok, i just got home from vegas, but i watched the season finale last night and all i can say is oh my fucking god!!! one of the best episodes EVER! they can play that kevin retarded thing as long as possible, i cannot get enough. i want to shake the hand of the writer that came up with that one. i promise you someone sat down one day and said “hey, you know, if you pretend kevin is supposed be retarded, it seems like he really is!” brilliant. i’m gonna watch it again right now.

edit: me, my brother and our respective women spent all day today quoting that episode. every single line related to kevin, whether spoken by him or about him have me laughing to myself right now thinking about them. god, even a classic jim prank at teh beginning…i have high hopes for season 5…

Vote Night for Dunder Mifflin North East Regional Vice President and Director of New Media!

Phylis shitting on Angela would be awesome for awhile.

And about the writers appearing in episodes, I agree, but Mindy kaling’s character is pretty funny when she says/does something.

I gotta watch it again to check. lol.
In my heart I was hoping this would be the spinoff show, like Daniel Clowes’ Artschool Confidential. Maybe Jim could be hired by corporate again now that Ryan is gone so they could have both him and Pam in New York so the spinoff show could still have that Dunder-Mifflin connection.

yeah but I kinda wish her character had a little bit more growth since its 4 seasons in already. Maybe she and Meredith could share an episode that focuses on them. Mindy and Darryl’s relationship hasn’t been touched in a while either.

more awesome quotes:
Michael: If the devil were to explode, and evil were gone forever, what sort of party would you have?

Toby:* DOES ANYONE HAVE A CAMERA HERE!?!*
then goes off to buy what later on looks like a expensive SLR digital camera.

Michael: Holly is the best thing that has happened to this company since World War II.
(lol. Printed War bonds? lol I forgot if there were any references in previous episodes about the history of Dunder-Mifflin)

Michael: Toby has been cruisin for a bruisin… and I am his Cruise Director… Captain Bruisin.

All this talk and nobody mentions Jim’s prank? FOR SHAME! Don’t worry. I forgot too.

Pam talking to Jim/Dwight was hilarious. “Oh, you sound sexy.” “Yeah, I’ve been working out.” HAHAHAHA

i made mention of it…all in all it was a classic office episode…

The finale didn’t suck. But How does a great episode make previous shitty episodes less shitty? The writing has been inconsistent throughout the season, and the show has still lost it’s original ethic. That being said, your trolling is pointless since you’re banned anyway.

GDLK episode. Right from the opening prank to the end credits. For once they mostly stayed in the office. Jim/Pam was brilliant, but it was obvious something was going to interrupt the proposal. Andy proposing… not expected at all, and Angela accepting was outta left field. Such a brilliant moment when Andy rips the mike out…“DAMNIT.”

Kevin won the ep though, and possibly the season.

The exit interview questions…

"Who… do you think… you are?"
Im Toby

Or when Micheal called jim to tell him that he loves holly.
“It was love at first sound”

Since this is really the only season I’ve followed, which would you consider to be the best one?

2nd season was what defined the series. Definitely go with that.

so um, theres supposedly a Office spin-off coming out next season. It’s going to be a new cast, but same idea behind the US/UK office

Season 2 with the Christmas Party episode which was  and Season 3 highlight (The Return). Andy’s phone has a cheesy little ringtone on it so Jim decides to play a prank on him. He takes his cell phone, throws it above the ceiling and then calls the phone various times. Andy freaks out “YOU DONT DO THIS TO PEOPLE, AHHHHHHH” and punches a hole in the wall.

Lies. Lies, I tell you!

Not so ninja edit: Some of the first season episodes were good too. I liked Diversity Day and the basketball one. And since the first season was only like 6 episodes long, that’s 1/3 of it!

Oh yeah, the watch was also awesome.

“You’ watch?
”…yes… how did you know:("

Season 2 is and ,unless some miracle happens, will always be the best season of The Office. I can watch the whole season beginning to end, the whole thing flows like water…the whole thing is a masterpiece. Comedy filled with drama.

I think that can be part of the reason why Seasons 3 and 4 are sometimes a letdown though…simply because it is hard to follow up the brilliance of Season 2. Season 4 has generally been the worst season out of the 4 of them, but that doesn’t mean it has been a bad season. I’d still rate it higher than any other show on TV. I still care about the characters, who are all great, and can’t wait until next season to see what happens next. The characters are still developing, there are still storylines that can keep the show fresh and I think Amy Ryan looks like she’ll be a great addition to the cast. ACTING!!!

If I were to rate the seasons, I’d say Season 2 >>>> Season 3 > Season 1 > Season 4.

What I’m worried about is the spinoff…I think the spinoff is just excessive and I’m half expecting it to flop. Hopefully it doesn’t affect the main show very much.

So was the random appearance of his parents. His dad looking like a spitting image of him with the same mannerisms.

Also, Casino Night was the greatest season finale to any show.

Ever.

God damn the season finale was good. Holly seems like an excellent addition to the cast. Lol at Kevin’s lines… this show is still good.

yup, holly seems to be an awesome addition to the office family. but i’m going to miss toby… who’s lunch tray is michael going to knock over now? who is michael going to whisper “i’ll kill you” to? the hate from michael was hilarious. the office is going to need someone new for michael to aim that aggression toward.

Absolutely. You could also make an argument that The Dundies was one of the best season premieres ever too. Its all about letting the ice melt and then its like second drink.

So is the dude that played Toby leaving the production team as well?
