As a French guy, I just love that there’s a Jean Reno character in Street Fighter. He should have been the french character in the series instead of Abel.

I’d love to see Capcom’s perspective on an Australian fighter. He’d probably be blonde, clad in “Animal Expedion” gear, end every sentence with “m8”, and fight using a whip, crocodiles, venemous spiders, and a boxing kangaroo in a hoodie.

She’s referring to Ryu. One of her lines of dialogue if Ibuki loses in the rival battle is “Lemme tell ya, Ryu is SO dreamy!”

I think it’s just something assumed because Chun was the first female of the series.
But Ryu is really only love for the fight and bromance with Ken.
Relationship between characters are pretty rare in Street Fighter, especially in comparison to like, King of Fighters.
We have like, Akuma and Gouken are brothers. Everything else is master/student or close friends.
I think it’s cute. Two grown man-child best friends. Perhaps Sakura became their friend out of pity and wanting to meet Ryu. She has the whole “oh onii-chan” thing for Ryu.
If Chun Li is Ryu’s love interest, then Vega (Claw) has got some serious competition to beat.
