I have no interest in this movie at all.
There are many Marvel characters that deserve a movie…Elektra is NOT one of them. I’m pissed that Marvel jumped on the tits & ass bandwagon after the release of the Tomb Raider (Angelina Jolie) and Resident Evil (I have no idea what that chicks name is) movies. Instead of them investing their millions in a quality movie with an interesting super-hero, they give us more of this “super-model saves the world” crap…

A very respectable character and I hope the move follows that too. It looks like it will focus on her early years of being resurected and trainned as a ninja, not to save the world, but to be a weapon of vengence/assassin for hire. But what have we learned about comics going to movies? They don’t stick to the story so I doubt she will be a assassin for hire, but it looks to have enough martial arts action to be decent. I don’t expect it to win an oscar, just keep me entertained. But to each their own of course. I am kinda late, but I’m just buying GTA San Andreas, and I must say I haven’t played one game for 6 hours in a minute. :tup:

What we have learned is that it will NEVER be the way it should be, that and if it was made by the makers of Xmen, how come this movie looks sweeter then the Xmen movie. I mean the Xmen movies SUCKED ASS a fucking BOMBSHELL. Her gift they kept, she has the ability to see a step into the future during a fight blah blah. If she is that good, how did she get her ASS whopped in D/D? I know I am just rambling and most of you will tell me (ITS JUST A MOVIE) but I would just once like to see them stick to it and make the damn movie how it should be. Doesn’t matter…Daredevil was not a successful movie @ the box office by any means (or DVD sales), it is absurd to say that movie jumpstarted the Elektra franchise…it is clear that Marvel and whatever movie studio producing this rubbish is going for the T & A angle…theres no other reason to make it. Her character isn’t interesting enough to warrant making her a solo movie, c’mon, a female ninja raised by wolves in the jungle plot (pun)? Its been done…nothing new here. Now a female ninja wearing tight leather and special effects flips and throwing weapons? Wow, now there is a box office killer for hungry 16 to 30 year old males…but what about the rest of us who crave story, an interesting plot/character? Is there is no other female/male Marvel character interesting enough to make a movie about in the Marvel Universe? Give me a break. Marvel has oodles of interesting male/female super hero characters to create a movie around. Its laziness. Pure and simple. Its the same fomula that gave us that box office smash, “Catwoman as Halle Berry”. Studio executives sat at a table and said, “Hey, lets make a chick movie…whos hot right now? Halle Berry is hot! Lets make a movie about her as Catwoman! We can’t miss!!! We’ll make millions!!!” Thus, a piece of shit movie is born to rot on store DVD shelves.

I’m gonna cancel FNG this week…I’m assuming most of you will be gettin’ busy anyway New Years eve, but even if the wasn’t the case, it too dangerous around here to do any gaming. The idiots in my neighborhood shoot on New Years Eve, not just guns…sometimes I think the folks around here have anti-aircraft weaponry and missles…its crazy. I agree with everything you are stating Robo, but Marvel doesn’t have any other female characters to make a movie for besides Mystique that you would not have to go into another book to explain really, adn she was in X-Men. And that would be considered T and A too because she is not hard on the eyes, she is a spy, and she can change to whoever she wants. I agree that the sex sells aspect ruins things, but it’s not to much to work with. They made a move cause there is alwasy gonna be a heroine movie out. Tomb Raider sucked, Resident Evil sucked, They don’t have right to Wonder Woman, but it’s Dc so it would suck if they did make it. The media wants a kick ass female movie(I do too :tup: ) That’s what female characters do, look good and kick ass.
Psylocke and Elecktra are pretty much the same character besides one is a mutant and one is not. Black Widow would be a good movie to make and I hear it is in the works, but she’s attractive as well, and a spy. The X-Men movie franchise screwed over Rouge’s story, so to make a movie about her you’d have to have Miss marvel in it cause that’s where she got her powers. They could do a Psylocke but not too many people know her outside of X-men. She Hulk is Hulk but she is a lawyer and is m=smart, and attractive. So there would be no way out of selling @ss for one of these movies. It sells, it sucks, but the comics do it too. Daredevil did jumpstart this movie cause it sucked, no argument there. And the franchise because she is a character from his book first. This is all marketing though when it comes down to it. We all know that. It seesm like the only successful Marvel movie was Spider-Man if you agree with the story or not, it is an excellent franachise
