I know what you mean about the headshot size, but I think they did it to counterbalance the fact that online lag makes sniping a pain in the ass.
Personally it just seems to me that your big gripe is the ranked game setup, which has you starting with the shittastic SMG, and has the default vehicles for each stage (a complain that I personally feel is kinda retarded, but whatever).
As far as I remember, you took 2 rockets with an overshield on in the original Halo. The splash radius reduction isn’t really a BAD thing, if anything it makes the fucking rocket more dangerous, since now you can use it at close range without worrying about blowing yourself up.
I don’t know what you’re bitching about with the shotgun, since the only times it doesn’t kill at close range is when you got that lag thing going on, and the space between shots was practically made for shotgun/melee. And the sword, bitch all you want, but I’ve taken out sword fags after respawning with just an SMG. But then, when it’s someone like you who likes to charge people head-fucking-long, of course you’re gonna get raped by it. Seriously, its not hard to sidestep a lunge, because people do it to me all the time. And if you have the chance to grab better guns (assuming you’re playing matchmaking), then your only fear of the sword is if they’re smart enough to keep it put away unless you get really close-again, you’re all about rushing in from what I’ve seen, so that’s kind of a bad idea.
The magnum can be strong enough to blow heads off all it wants, when you got no shields, thats exactly what it does. God forbid that it doesn’t rape shields anymore, now you have to dual wield it, which is basically what it’s built for doing. Invest in a plasma pistol-it’s the best weapon in the game, if you ask me.
You talked about killing a halo sniper with 3-6 pistol shots. How, exactly, does 4-6 bullets seem so much worse? You’ve made it clear to me that ranged combat is not your forte. The only stage that the sniper is really good on is ascension, in my experience-waterworks is practically built for that shit, so it’s expected, but given the size of the stage, Snipers gotta watch their backs constantly. Vehicles are usually on to counteract snipers, since it’s, in theory anyway, harder to snipe someone out of a ghost or hog, and in practice, a banshee. And furthermore, the sniper still kills in 1 to 2 shots. A good halo sniepr would have you dead before you got a bead on him with the pistol, and then he’d fucking move so you wouldn’t get em on the respawn. And you use an elite anyway, those guys are easy as fuck to headshot on, except from the back. The people who sucked at sniping in the first halo, still suck, from what I’ve seen. Only the guys who were any good in the first place are better from the headshot thing.
Finally, we come to dual weilds. How is respawning with a single weapon against someone with dual weilds any better then respawing in halo 1 with a pistol sniper blasting you the second you pop out? I’ve taken people out on the respawn with my SMG, so don’t act like it’s not impossible. Contrary to popular belief, “hiding” and using grenades is still a valid tactic.
Yes, halo 2 is easier for a casual player to do decently in, with the lack of the pistol. But good Halo players are still good in Halo 2. Look at the ranked boards, the guys on top were considered the best in Halo 1. All this says to me is that you aren’t as good as you always thought you were.
…Just got back from RoBo’s hizzouse, great time as usual…I promise you that I didn’t know VDO was gonna show. I talked to Luke at the last minute and told him I’ll ride with him. It felt good playing some old classics like: TekkenTag, Garou MOTW, SoulCalibre’. Those were even played on the big TV. I even got a chance to play RoBo’s nephews in alil Naruto 2, part 3 was loaned out. Merry Christmas everyone !!! :encore:

On Halo 1 after you got an overshield, 1 rocket would kill you if I remember correctly, and if not 1, 2… it didn’t take 3 full rockets to kill you.
Ummm… I’m good at all combat forms, from sniping to running up, it’s just the simple matter that sniping is no fun after you become so good at it, I get most of my sniper head shots without zooming in, seeing that the sniper is the best weapon in the game, thats like only using top tier characters while playing a fighting game and thinking you’re the shit because you can win with them… ANYBODY CAN DO THE SAME THING IF THEY ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY… Give me a sniper rifle and you’ll never respond.
Duel Wields are scrubby, as soon as they put this trash on the game they threw the balance off, if I have plasma pistol/pistol and you respond with SMG, I’ll keep killing you everytime I see you, thats because you have no choice but to either run or die, it takes almost a whole clip of SMG to kill someone, when it’ll only take me 3 shots to kill you, who do you think will win? :rolleyes:
The Shotgun has been brutaly raped, anybody who plays Halo 1 knows this, since the game has been out I’ve shot someone 5 or 6 consecutive times with the shotgun and they still killed me, and this is close range and they had no overshield… This is the reason why it is fucking garbage, there is no way possible that this should happen, PERIOD
As far as a sniper killing me with a pistol before I get the bead on him, thats laughable, first of all I have to do his knock his zoom off with a body shot, hit with another body shot, and make sure the last shot is a head shot, and he’s dead… it’s not 3 head shots, it’s 2 to the body, last to the head… so I don’t have to be accurate to kill him until the end, a sniper that cannot zoom is a dead sniper :badboy:
