Fuck…so i did say i’d wait it out until Christmas to get Odyssey as a gift, but I’m contemplating picking it up tomorrow or even next week. Just gotta see what the hobby/entertainment budget is looking like after knocking out some bills next week.

It is time, my boys! Time for us to go forth and bask in the greatness that is Super Mario Odyssey! I have been waiting months to post this!
Well…finally got the last shrine I needed. Gamepad was about to run out of batteries(flashing red light) so I switched to the pro controller. This shrine is gyro puzzle, lol!
Spoilers about other shrines
Last two before the gyro one were hilarious. I remember the area but for some reason, every time I went to this area (Gerudo) and for whatever reason I just didn’t feel like climbing anymore. This time I said “fuck it” and lo and behold I said fuck it and there it was, with a korok seed no less. The other one was in the Akkala region, which I marked around the first few weeks of playing this game. I remember never having bomb arrows once I got there, and the shot on top of the climbing was at least a two stamina circle affair. I had it marked on the map with something other than a star from a long time ago.
I ended up looking up looking up the number of shrines for each region, but then I had to look up what the regions looked like before they were activated. Even then it took time. With only three left I should have just looked up completed maps, but I did good without looking at maps for 117 of them so I wanted to not do it but I was looking forward to seeing the game end. Not going to fight Gannon until this weekend however. If this next installment is this open, I’m going for no HUD without maps.
Played a little bit of Mario Odyssey at demo station today. Weird not having a run button after playing 3D World but I’ll manage, haha. Avoided spoilers on this and was surprised by a few things already.
Man. You know a game is lit when you’re having a blast just screwing around when you start. I must have spent 20 minutes or more in the Cap Kingdom, running, jumping, building up my coins. I’ve already got enough to put more in boxer shorts and expose his nipples for all the world to see but I decide to hand on to my coins for now. The price for seeing Mario’s nipples are quite high.
Uhhhhhhhhhh the soundtrack to Odyssey is sooooooo GOOOOOD!!! I need this soundtrack on the go. The first few kingdoms alone are killing it.
I’ll be shocked if Mario Odyssey has any music as perfect as Dire Dire Docks on N64 though.
God damn that music is great…

bought a couple of costumes. this game is a collectathon…which begs the question, why didn’t ppl like yoshi’s wooly world? also this game is very similar to 3d world and its interesting to me how a lot of ppl seemed to not fuck with 3d world at all yet are head over heels in love with this game…
outside of a timer and [details=Spoiler]no powerups,[/details] so far i’m not seeing much of a difference.
Hate Boners for the Wii U were(still) strong, that’s why.

i feel like i’ve spent 6 hours or more in the sand kingdom lol. so many moons and purple coins.
i forgot about the stickers on the ship thing until i saw a post about it on gamefaqs so now i’m going to go back to previous levels and find more coins to buy stickers to put on the ship.
if nothing else i am enjoying the customization options. the music is decent so far too.
Been seeing nothing but positive stuff from my friends who have the game. Good to hear. Nintendo really dropped 2 nukes this year. One at launch and one for the holidays
