I bought a neon red/blue switch last Monday since Amazon got their own stock in. It arrived on Wednesday. Pretty neat little system. I got Mario Kart, Fast RMX, Sonic Mania, and Mario Odyssey on pre-order. Fast RMX is my favorite. I can’t believe I never heard of that game before, since I like those f-zero/wipeout type racers. I also like having Sonic Mania on the go.
It’s my first Nintendo system since the Gamecube/DS. Mario Odyssey looked cool so I bought the switch on a whim, but I’m glad I got mine while I did. It has been hard to find them at MSRP without going to a store, plus the holidays are going to be a shit show. Amazon are already out of stock of the neon red/blue version. They have some of those “fulfilled by amazon” orders left, but they are above MSRP. They still have the grey version in stock though.
Most places that had the Switch preview kiosks should probably be getting them if they don’t already have them. They’re using the same kiosk and just fixing it up to with a set of joy controllers to make 1 controller and then a set of joy con that are not docked. Games that I remember up as demos are BotW, MK8D, SMO, and Pokken DX. Kinda surprised they didn’t have at least 1 3rd party up as a playable demo and also surprised that it wasn’t Sonic Mania. I’m sure more stuff is gonna get put on as time goes on…Come to think of it I don’t even think the kiosk had a video for Fire Emblem Warriors on it. hmmmm…
I don’t see how someone who likes Mario games in general could be on the fence about Odyssey. It looks like the best Mario game since Mario 64. The game is going to be incredible.
Eww 3D. Kidding but seriously I getting that Sonic Adventures vibe from it.
And I for a long time hated Mario 64 but not any more.
I grew up with 2D, so series that started with 2D for me I got turn off from when they translate to 3D.
Especially when the 3D completely changes the game play.
Croagunk (the Crunk™!) might be a regular choice, man… the projectile spam potential with this little fucker…it’s gorgeous, folks. It looks like the spits are fast enough that you can keep doing them while jumping up to throw random crap on the ground…there’s a big cement/junk ball that comes out from the jumping A… that covers a nice area and hits people for a while like the tornado…then he also has what I guess is a spit that puts an acid or poison pool on the ground which knocks their defense stat down if I recall. Then he has a poison cloud he can spit out but it’s short range on that…but it stays on screen for a while. I can tell already this little froggy bastard online is going to piss some kids off big time.
I never played it on WiiU so yeah this is all new shit to me…it’s fun just seeing what kind of shenanigans each of these characters has going on. So far I’m really liking Scizor, Machamp and Croagunk… I just started tinkering around with Decidueye earlier today on lunchbreak.
Finished Golf Story last night. What a great little game with an incredible charm to it. I think my total play time was like 15 hours. There is 1 item I’m missing from the story mode which I will probably get tonight or at some point, just to have everything, but I also just found out last night about the whole drone thing so I want to do that part as well.
First game is Pokken DX. I;m no stranger to ballte arena fighter but pokken is its own beats in its self. Right now leaning towards Gardevior or Chandeluer.
Plan to get ARMS next week. A bit concern how “joy con” is the definitive way to play ARMS. I know their classic control option but I hear that control layout lack the “curve punch function” which seems to be big part of the game. Unless classic control has their own advantage…I might have to play ball with motion control.
you can curve your punches using the classic control layout but there are certain advantages that come with using the motion controls that you can’t do with classic…such as curving your punches separately from each other.
