Ended up hitting up the Nintendo shop in NYC today and they still had some Dreamer editions left so I said fuck it and got it. I’m a Zelda mark and was like it’s my fucking anniversary so might as well spoil myself. Tax in NYC is no joke though lol. I’m probably going to go back there before I leave and buy a few shirts and a hoodie or two. They have some awesome clothing in there and this awesome Zelda hoodie.
I’m glad I didn’t go out of my way to get it last night either because I played games on the bus for like an hour. I was tired as shit and in/out of sleep for a while, then played for a bit and started to feel a bit car sick.
I probably won’t start Zelda till I finish Shantae though cause I know I won’t go back to it. It’s a good game though, I’m just not good at juggling story games.

They also had a ton of the Amiibo’s for Link’s Awakening too. Had some cool stuff on display too.

Nintendo NY is always a place I visit if I ever come to NYC. I usually always end up leaving with something.
I was listening to the OST for LA HD on the way to work and catching eargasms on the way. Only heard 30 min or so of the music but lord they did such an amazing job on the music.
I mentioned this in the vgm thread but the ost is up on sittingonclouds for those who didnt see my post. OCR also put out a their 2nd remix album for LA as well.

Maaaaaan. The art book is soooo fucking nice. I’m in love. Original Concept art galore and step by step design progression of key items, locations and characters for the remake.
I’m definitely going to take a picture of every page to show off. It’s fucking siiiiick and makes me ridiculously happy. Glad I sprang the extra $10 to get it.

I foolishly didn’t buy the dreamer edition when I should have. all areas sold out. I bit the bullet and bought on eBay from a guy who’s kid didn’t want it anymore. Even though I will spend more now, for my favorite Zelda game, it’s worth it.

I only got to play Link’s Awakening for an hour and a half yesterday because I had to leave for work. Now that work is done I can spend a few more hours with the game. I made it to the Tail Cave. I never realized in the original game but now it is way more obvious that they took more than Goombas and Kirby to use in this game. I had no idea the first dungeon had Buzzy Beatles and Spinys in it.
Also the telephone has the same chiptune ring from the Game Boy game. Oh and Grandma Yahoo is pure.

Well that Joycon D-pad is a result of a mod and does not come like that stock.
I expect the mod to do better than the stock Switch Lite
Figured out what to add to the thread title. Marvel Knights DLC Pack! I feel bad for forgetting considering how hype everyone was when it was announced.
In my defense though, this has been a ridiculously stacked month. It understandably got lost in the shuffle.
Finished Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero last night - really good game. Is the other one as good as that one or similar? Do you transform into the same animals?
This game really gave me a Monster Boy vibe to it, from the art style to just the quirky story that went along with it, and how you have to do the fetch quests, and the progression system. Other than not being true metroidvania that is because you don’t really “backtrack” in the traditional sense.
Now I can move onto Link’s Awakening though once I get a chance to game. Hopefully I can put a lot of hours into it tomorrow on my bus ride. It won’t be mad early so I should be rested.
I try to keep this as spoiler free as I can. I been playing Link’s Awakening on and off for the last 3 days.
So far the Switch version Link’s Awakening is almost identical to the Game Boy and GameBoy color DX versions, placement of enemies, landscape, landmarks, enemy behavior, some of the sound effects are even unchanged.
What did change that I like, a few quality of life improvements to a few key things that make everything more manageable. Including a better Map, Save screen, and some Autosave features.
Missing is that Camera Hut from the DX version of the game
New is the Create your own Dungeon feature with [Redacted].
The Dungeon maker is basic but you get more as you progress, with more attention and polish it can become a full game on its own like how Mario Maker is for Super Mario Bros.

sheeeiiiiittttt, that’s what’s up—after Mario Maker, I’ve been thinking about how awesome other “____ Maker” games could be, and yep Legend of Zelda is one of the top candidates…then imagine— Sonic Maker… and Castlevania Maker…of course that has absolutely zero chance of ever happening because of the annoying company that happens to own that IP, but it would be nice.
…heh, that’s another one for the “game franchises that need rescuing” topic right there… Castlevania… along with Phantasy Star.

Miyamoto actually asked Aonuma to do a Zelda Maker and thats how the side quest occured in LAHD.
