The thing is that VC is still completely unique among tactical RPGs even without reinventing itself. I really don’t think it needs to mimic what other IPs are doing at this point and just has to find a way to finetune what it doesn’t do quite so well. VC4 was a fantastic game in my book and probably the best one I’ve played last year and I feel like it wouldn’t have been better but simply more bloated with an academy of sorts.

If you don’t feel like watching:
Hero/Erdrick/Luminary launches today.

GODDAMMIT.

that I’m legit surprised about tbh. Hopefully it’s a decent port, otherwise I’m keeping my game pass on PC to play it when it comes out.

Color me surprised.

Captain Toad gets a Labo VR compatibility update. For reasons.

Nintendo needs a legit VR headset. Not this Labo shit. Cardboard ain’t built to last.

Turok 2 is getting released in the U.K. August 9th

My guess is US release will be same day or shortly after.

sheeeeiiiiit, more than likely I’ll get one of those as my “backup” Switch… the Zacian one looks somewhat interesting though I don’t care about Pokemon…still, it would be nice if there were way more colors to choose from. I’m not sure what happened to the mindset Nintendo had back in the Gameboy and DS days, when there were tons of “style” options for those. Why can’t we get an official SNES color theme, man? I’d be on that shit day 1, easily.

Since 1 joycon has been drifting lately I got back to using my pro controller… absolutely loving it. I hate how expensive controllers have become in the recent console generations, but mannnn that one is worth every penny. I was playing it in the lounge area at work today since I got there early.

Nintendo is currently fixing drifting Joycons for free.

Which means I have an extra pair.

I need to send them in though. NES online has taken up my Mario Maker 2 time immensely. Sometimes a quick go at Splatoon. Currently playing Metroid and a the first mid-boss. I’m missing some power-ups though. The boots, Screw Attack, wave beam and spider-ball(?) where I can stick to walls.

Honestly, this is reminding me of Metroid 2 as a kid in that, I’m playing portable Metroid, and I’m lost, haha. I’ll end up beating this though. I don’t get the hate the game seems to get when it comes to old NES games. Everything, especially the music, is spot on. Clearing a room full of enemies without stopping momentum is great feeling. The platforming challenges with the ice beam are good times too. Navigating downwards as a ball, with it’s own physics, is soothingly satisfying as well.

There are some hilariously cheap things though. Enemies being able to hit you when you walk through doors. Some doors and enemy can spawn and come at you. You’ll see and there’s nothing you can do because Samus is still loading haha.

I have this on a hard drive but too lazy for a controller option, and the Switch form factor makes this the best way to play it. I’ve waited too long to play this but glad I finally did. It’s been worth it so far.

I guess sales aren’t what they are, but there’s a lot of wasted potential with this series has far as what I’ve played with the first game now. Read the other day that the 3DS game is remake of the GB game. This might tip me over to buying the dumb piece of shit, haha. Maybe I’ll grab the GBA games on the Wii U after Super Metroid?

The first Metroid doesn’t have the Spider-ball powerup-that didn’t come until Metroid 2.

And the 3DS remake is excellent if you haven’t played it. Highly recommended.

Glad you’re enjoying the original, man! It’s a great game.

Splatoon 2’s final patch is out.

So when after will Nintendo drop support?

When Splatoon 2 and Arms launched they said the games would get around 2 years of support whether its DLC, patches, events…etc.

Splat2 came out in July of 2017. So. They kept their word on the support.

How long they plan on keeping the servers open for all the modes though? Probably until the next system. Splatoon is still one of their most popular online titles so to completely cut off support would be dumb.

Nintendo has done worst.
They cut alot of online services before their time before. And they did it with every console that has a online or download element, all the way back to the original Famicom.
