sheeeeit, if you like ARPGs, D3 might have you hooked for at least a few hundred hours. I prefer this version now since it’s naturally portable, of course. (*and doesn’t require an internet connection like the silly ass PC version)
I should get in some more time on my seasonal Necromancer before the season ends; it’s ending sooner than I expected it to.
Hey, say what you will about GS but there are some good prices on that Easter sale they got going on. I could have gotten a Power A wireless GameCube controller for $40 rather than the $50 it goes for but since I was already buying 3 Switch games, I decided to pass.
Never played Boxboy but I’ll pick up Boxboy+Boxgirl because I could use a good puzzle game and this one looks really good.
I’m a few levels into Yoshi’s Crafted World and I’m loving it. All those unlockable costumes will keep me busy. It also pays to be on the lookout for stuff to throw eggs at in the background. The game just oozes cuteness from Shy Guys staring off in the background to some wearing bandannas on pirate themed levels, so much of this game makes me goo Daaaaaaaww.
and it’s perfect timing with a 3-day weekend for me…I’m regretting not asking for Monday off so it could be a 4-day weekend. Ha, 2 cool games I want in 1 day…THEN there’s Dragon’s Dogma next week…this system’s lineup has been the shit from day 1, folks.
Some people are of the opinion that you need some time after something before thinking of it as “legendary” status…sheeeeeit, that’s not me; I recognize greatness while it’s still going on, man. Switch has already earned that “Legendary” spot for me.
I enjoy the fact that Doug Bowser has embraced the fact he’s been a meme aince his announcement of taking over for Reggie and that he will continue to be one as long as he’s CEO of NoA.
I hope he continues to claim it and embraces like he has been and how Reggie did during his tenure.
Hitting the things in the background unless you are doing a scavenger hunt run is kinda pointless, unless you see some things with red coins back there.
I beat Crafted World a while ago and have still been doing runs to get all the smilies in the worlds. I have like 8 or 9 worlds completely finished. I haven’t played it since last weekend though.
The sculpt for the Ken amiibo is REALLY good. The quality and details in the sculpts have improved so much over the years. They’ve been on another level since the Breath of the Wild amiibo dropped a little over 2 years ago.
Like, Ken, Ice Climbers and Ridley are probably my favorite sculpts. The detail on them are incredible.
Yikes…but they are ‘fresh loads’ (har har) with the story book one being the worst. When you die during a level and/or boss fight it’s a fast load for the retry.
Post from one of the devs at Era. I’ll just bold it.
"We did the best we could on load times.
We entirely re-engineered the way the sprites were packaged and allocated specifically for the Switch version to reduce the load times, but this is just a side effect of the Switch’s CPU. To put it in perspective, the re-engineering work we did on the asset handling we back-ported to the PC and Xbox versions (both of which will receive a patch tomorrow with the new content and updates) and in a lot of cases, that reduced load times to almost half of what they were before. So, it was no small task to get the Switch version to the load times they are now.
So we were faced with either reducing the quality of the art work, or having these load times. We looked at the general flow of the game, and for the most part, you face a boss or level, get the load the first time…and you then play that sequence over and over (wherein retries and deaths have only a very short load), so it’s not like you’re facing load screens constantly.
I’ll also say this: the most brutal load is the initial load into the Storybook sequence right at the start. There aren’t any other loads anywhere near that for the rest of the game and you only see it once on your first play through.
Also, i just booted up the game and loaded up Forest Follies and it took 3 seconds less on my Switch than it did in that video, so I’m not sure what’s going on there.
Anyway, I hope this illuminates the intention we were going for on the balance of choices available. It’s honestly just a matter of: Cuphead has an enormous amount of animation and the Switch CPU is slower than the Xbox’s and your average PC. We did what we could without compromising the quality of what you actually play. "
I have endured long load times over many games. this is the equivalent of seeing a Youtube vid at 4k (or even 1080p) vs 240p just to load up the whole vid. I’ll accept long load times
Joker in Smash Ultimate + Stage Builder, Cuphead, Katana ZERO, Hell is other Demons. Man, my Thursday is JAM packed.
Every single song they picked for Joker’s stage in Ultimate is dope. Like, these are some serious bangers. I’m gonna have to listen to the entire Persona 4 and 5 soundtracks.
