So Bowser Jr. got hit with the nerf gun after all the complaints in Mario Tennis Aces. I still haven’t played the game yet, but for those of you that own it, was he really that bad to go up against?
He wasnt unbeatable but he was a pain in the ass. I’ve only had to deal with him in doubles with the wife. Also a reminder…splatoon splatfest is going on today.
cheh, Enter the Gungeon has definitely taken over my Switch time lately… at 50% off right now it’s turned out to be an absolute steal. I do wish the player characters were more detailed though…that’s probably my only complaint. The weapons are great-- I just found a gun that is the lower-case letter “r”, and it shoots the letters that spell “bullet”…and the great thing is that you hear the gun apparently saying “BULLET” each time you fire it.
I played the game once but could tell he was broken. It was way too easy to hit the ball as nothing was out of reach. Way too little effort needed to be good with him
Actually a easier solution is a powered USB Hub, one that uses a wall adapter for power
Hori is going to release a Joy-Con with a d-pad
What sucks about it is that Hori cut a bunch of features to sell it at a budget price. It has no bluetooth, HD rumble, gyro sensor, battery, and SL & SR buttons. It can only be used in portable mode. I’ll wait for a full featured version of this joy con.
What’s the point of even releasing it when it doesn’t have any of the functions of a joycon? Seems like a waste of money.
More like restrictions from Nintendo not allowing Hori to do certain things with their 3rd party controller as a condition of their license.
D-pad is only useful for Portable mode anyways
Those two designs are hella ugly too.
It’s not a restriction. The features were cut so Hori can sell the thing for $25.
I am tempted it would be nice to play my fighting games in portable mode but the lack of the other features or at least Bluetooth is bothersome.
IMO that’s a pretty good idea and it allows them to come in at that low of a price point. I personally would only use it in portable mode as I use a pro controller when playing at home. I feel the d-pad would be better for retro games as well like the Dragon Boy game that I have. And only having to buy 1 side of the joycon is also a plus.
But damn they are ugly, why not just make ones with the same solid color to match?
I get Super Mario but when since the 16 bit era has a D pad ever been made sense to be marketed with the Zelda brand?
With the exception of Hori’s GameCube like Mini N64 controllers, Nintendo never allowed Hori to make a product superior to their own. Nintendo gets to dictate how their licensed products get made to other manufacturers.
The Hori D-pad Joycon is $25 as it has no bluetooth or battery functionality.
Man we got dudes making Zelda Theme Arcade sticks for the Xbox one. A licensed Nintendo Product don’t need to make practical sense.
New weapons dropped in Splatoon. The Bloblobber is fun to use. And quite possibly OP. Since the bubbles can ricochet, it is possible to be splatted from an indirect hit. Also, it is possible to one-shot people from a considerable distance away if all the bubbles from the first shot connect and there is very little, if any, time to get out of the way once that first bubble hits you. Oh and on a smaller stage, if you run into a team that has FOUR Bloblobbers? Fugget about dat W. With the special being ink storm x4 they can pressure you back to your spawn point. The one instance where I ran up against a team of four Bloblobbers had to be some of the worst match making I’ve ever seen.
I need to play some games with you Reggie
Mario Tennis got updates…some QoL changes as well as some gameplay changes.
Hori recently released a Dual Shock 4 that was also missing features of the standard DS4 so it can be sold at a budget price. Seems to me they are deliberately cutting corners to sell their controllers cheaply.
When did Sony allowed a 3rd party PS3 or PS4 controller to match all the functionality and quality of their own stock controllers?
I will tell you, Never.
You seem to forget, if you want to work with Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft to make 3rd party hardware, you have to play ball with them. Which means abiding by their rules. Rules like not having all the functionality in your products.
Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft don’t want 3rd parties like Hori to make a controller superior to their own.
Less features would equal a lower price?
Who would have thought!!??
