I think Nintendo will upgrade the CPU. This is a perfectly reasonable excuse to upgrade the hardware and they can phase out the existing Switch consoles.

The problem is they have already sold nearly 20 million in little over a year, if they do change the chipset or make a hardware change, to completely remove all issues the exploit could cause they are going to have to constantly make software updates or just straight up ban certain devices. No matter their path, it will cause new expense and lead to division they probably weren’t planning on creating until over 3 years into the system life cycle. Now it would be surprising if they didn’t have to do it before the end of the current fiscal year.
There will be no division unless Nintendo forces one. There’s no division with the PS4 Pro and it’s original version. Same goes with Xbone X. The original specs can still be base for Switch games so anyone who invested in the original Switch won’t get screwed.
Online will be a different matter entirely. Any console caught using cheats online will need to be banned

Over on reddit people are still bitching about DKC:TF being $10 more on the switch than the Wii U and are asking people to boycott its release and not buy the game. What a crock of shit.
$10 for Funky Mode and additional changes is not a rip off and cartridges are more expensive to produce than cd’s so it only makes sense that the game is $10 dollars more.
And besides; if you buy games consistently like most people who are “gamers” do than you likely buy from amazon or Best Buy which means you likely have Prime and/or Gamers Club which means you get 20% off preorders and new games. Which means you haven’t payed MSRP for a game in x amount of time. I personally haven’t paid msrp for a game since amazon prime started the 20% off preorders deal which was over 3 years ago. Paying msrp is absurd to me these days.

I’m perfectly fine with the game being $60 considering that I think it’s worth that much and considering the amount of people who bought the game on the Wii U (hint:…not that many…the game sold 130,000 in the first 8 days of release in NA…and there aren’t any more mention of sales figures beyond that). I’m willing to bet a bunch of those people complaining over on reddit didn’t even drop the $50 bucks when it first came out to support the game.
And boycotting it ain’t going to do shit but work against them. If this game gets poor sales AGAIN what do they think is going to happen to the DK franchise? It JUST got out of hiatus and it sounds like they want to put the franchise back on ice again. They better cut that shit out before the franchise gets treated like Metroid.

I’m buying Tropical Freeze and 60 is perfectly fine for me. Hell it’s cheaper from Amazon anyway.

Another great SHMUP coming to the Switch and said great SHMIUP is Ikaruga? My pants just got tight. Seriously there are so many good SHMUPs on the Switch that it is insane. I just wish we could see some of the M2 Shot Triggers stuff come to this baby.
I started up Splatoon 2 finally. X no longer being the jump button is gonna take some getting used to and I keep looking down at my Pro Controller only to realize that there is no map on it.

My DKC from Amazon shipped today. Seems early but it still says it arrives Friday.
My copy will likely ship tomorrow. Which is fine. With work and comics I need to catch up on I have no idea when I’ll even be able to play it.
I actually own Ikaruga on the GC… I will be picking it up on the Switch. I could never beat the game one one continue on normal difficulty but I enjoyed the game a bit.
