I wrote off buying the Wii U when I heard about the Wii U limited internal memory.
I wanted something more than a built in 32GB. I felt I could hold off till we got something bigger.
The Smaller 8GB console was a Joke as most of that gets filled when you set up your console the first time.
…but the Switch is nearly essentially in the same position as the Wii U memory wise. You could buy an external harddrive for the system to expand the memory in much the same way as buying a micro sd card.
That is no way the same position. And the external drive support didn’t appear on the Wii U at launch, it appears alot later with a firmware update.
The Switch on the other hand supports larger Micro SD cards than they actually make for the market. Switch supports up too 4TB and the largest you can find is 512GB.
On the Switch the SD card is unobtrusive and you forget about it while playing.
On the Wii U, using a external HDD? I supposed to tether another piece of shit accessory to this piece of shit console that should of been better made in the first place.
For the Wii U there this tablet that not replaceable, if the tablet breaks i can’t swap it out as its fixed to my particular console. And now I have to do the same thing with a HDD?
A External Hard drive on a console, the fuck is that? I rather upgrade the internal drive and be done with it.
Unless you got a Laptop sized External, you need a power supply for it, and the way consoles are sometimes you may as well have a external power brick for the hard drive any ways.
At least with the PS4, I can pull out the internal drive and swap it out for a bigger/faster drive.
I got a launch model PS4 with a 2TB HDD inside. If I want to get any more technical it go to my Desk top PC.
I rather have my Console stay what it is, a single self contain unit.
Wanting the console to say as self contained as possible I get. And yeah they weren’t available until later but that’s still a way to mitigate the smaller memory that the system and that happened about half way through the consoles life. I’m just saying your reasoning for not getting a Wii U for the memory doesn’t line up when there WAS an option to get more in much the same way the Switch does.
Also you can buy an external for the Wii U and have it powered with a Y cable without having to buy a power supply, takes up 2 usb slots though
Really though the real issue with Wii U’s 32gb storage was if you wanted to try to go mostly digital with your library in the beginning. Most of the games didn’t take up space like late 360/ps3 and now most of the current gen console games do. 32gb got you pretty far with the console for physical. Think the only game that could really took up the most space was XCX for physical since if you wanted that game to run as best as possible you needed to offload some of the data.
Problem was most of the stuff that actually interest me was download only. 32 GB isn’t buch when the 8GB model gets mostly used up with in-vital set up and user accounts.
So were not actually getting a 8GB Console we got a 3GB console, and we didn’t get a 32, we got a 29GB Console.
There other things I tried to wait out on as well that would only made sense but nindy refuse to deliver on, like fixing the bloody issue with the tablet being locked to the console it came with.
Unlock the Tablet, make it optional and sell consoles without the tablet would of been more appealing to people. Only one game properly used the tablet as all and it came too late in the console’s life cycle to mean anything.
And in before you say it, I am talking about Mario Marker. As great as it was it was not enough for me to overlook the faults of the system.
The Switch on the other hand never tries to shoe horn the same awful controls, or rather it didn’t force it so often.
Trying to get the fucking Beach Volleyball Champ moon is by far the most frustrating and annoying moon in this game. I am just under 700 moons so I’ve gotten a lot of them already, and this one is a fucking pain in the ass. The worst part is that it starts so god damn slow. And why do they make you go to 100? I thought for SURE it was going to be up to 50, then when you get to 50 - no moon. Then it keeps on going. And going. And going.
With how Mario “runs in place” when you start movement it makes this so easy to fucking mess up and sometimes I throw the hat to hit the ball and I didn’t get the aim 100% and it misses by a hair, and ruins my turn. Then I have to start all fucking over. My highest is 93 too so I’ve gotten really close. Kind of weird that the easy moon is 15 but they make the hard one all the way to 100. That’s a big ass gap.
You try shaking the controller after you toss the hat? Wondering if it’ll lock in on the ball like it does enemies. I haven’t used that mechanic much at all since I use the Pro controller, but it might be useful in this situation.
Hmmm I can try both of these. I use a pro controller too so shaking the controller is pretty retarded but I can shake it if it’ll help me just get this damn moon. That and the hint art one is all I have left on that world.
So I fucked up in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 but I am not sure how.
Long story short and avoiding spoilers, in chapter 6, just started a section of where in game there is supposed to be a time table but this is an JRPG so when I got lost wandering around I gave up and skip traveled to do side quests and grind. I got Rex and Co past level 50 a few above the current enemy norm before returning to the main path.
Only to find the area has become littered with monsters in 70s and 80s range one of which attacked me as skip traveled to the outer area in front of town. Anyone else have this issue? Is it just because I got grind greedy or what?
I have no idea who’s idea it was to give them only like 3 variations of dialogue. The game in general suffers from repetitive battle dialogue and they are by far the most obvious example of this.
There’s a reason I turned down battle dialogue volume in options.
Found out what went wrong. Apparently if you play XC2 a shit ton but don’t rest your characters or use the bonus experience, the game will drop in all the ridiculous leveled monsters until you do among a few of the normal ones.
Like some bizarre message on sleeps from Nintendo.
