The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

Too ready. I finished XCX last night. Beat it at 64 hours. Final boss was actually a breeze too. Whole team was at 51, but I did rent a level 60 character LOL.

I am still looking forward to Hollow Knight. It’s the type of game I want to play on the switch.

But it’s been delayed until probably end of Q1 2018:

I pulled the trigger and got a Switch. I have the console and a micro SD. I have a screen protector and pro controller coming in tomorrow. I still haven’t decided which game to get first. Probably best I get something that my nephew can play.

Mario Odyssey or Mario Kart.

Odyssey.

My copy of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 got delayed until Monday. Damn you, Amazon!

I cancelled my order and got the game locally. Amazon Prime is no longer worth the cost (at least in Canada). EB Games had a deal where you get $25 credit for trading in a PS3 controller. I took advantage of that since my PS3 was busted and wasn’t using the pad for anything. Ended up paying for the game much less than I would have through Amazon.

Just got XC2 2 hours ago, Im 1 hour in and made it to this flying harbour and just met my new team.
Holy crap the music, the graphic style, the presentation, the combat ( ye Ive only done one fight so far lol, but still ) etc. are pretty amazing.
Ye, I know Im only 1 hour in, but I got a feeling this game is gonna be amazing and prob. one of these few games that can actually be on the same overall experience lvl of a FF7 or Shenmue.
Most of the time I just walked around on this flying harbour looking at things, <3 this game & so many little Pikachus everywhere lol.

Nintendo is rly takin over when it comes to great games this year.
I was starving for a good JRPG since so long after FF15 was another huge letdown,
XC2 is exactly what Ive been looking for. <3

Kart if you want Multiplayer experience
Odyssey if you want to stick to single player

From my understanding, there’s co-op in Odyssey.

One controls the hat, the other controls Mario. You can always switch players as well.

I got XC2 last night, so far so good, got Pyra and started killing forest creatures to level up.

Then my 4 year old nephew told me killing bunnies is bad so I had to stop for the moment. I really want to grind more but I don’t need that kind of judgment.

Either of the Mario games(Kart, Odyssey) are good. I’d give Sonic Mania a look too. It’s only $20, its file size is under 400MB, and it’s not a battery hog. Sonic Mania in portable mode is godlike. The Switch version is the best version imo.

I already have Mania on PS4. I refuse to buy downloadable games on Nintendo consoles. Until Nintendo learns to tie purchases to accounts I ain’t buying nothing from the eShop.

As much as I’m enjoying Mario Odyssey, I don’t see myself 100-percenting it. You really have to scour the whoooole game for everything. I WILL get MOST of the moons, though.

I guess I’ll also complete the 500-moon level, too. Even though it’s boring as hell to retry.

[details=Spoiler]
So far, I’ve made one attempt at the darkest side of the moon or whatever. On that attempt, I made it through what I think is most of the level with little difficulty. I took maybe two or three hits total, only one section even felt a little bit difficult, and I made it to the Asshole Platform with a full six-heart health bar.

I call it the Asshole Platform because it’s a forced-scrolling bullet-hell section. It chewed through my health bar in no time flat. That’s right, we have a super hard bit at the end of a loooong stretch of stuff I mastered on the first try.

I do have an idea to just avoid hitting the chain-reaction damage ring thingy in the middle the next time I try it. But in order to do that I have to make it through that entire long level again. And it’s not even difficult, it’s just long. Yay. And of course, I dunno how much of the level is left.[/details]

Then why bother with the micro sd card? I already have Mania on PC, but it’s definitely worth having on Switch imo.

Was pretty sure that the NNID connects your downloads to the acct…will have to check into that.

Because the Switch only has 32GB. That’s is too low for my liking. Who knows if that will enough for patches, DLC and other updates.

From Nintendo’s web page
http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2220/~/what-happens-to-my-nintendo-eshop-purchases-when-i-link-a-nintendo-network-id%3F

It doesnt technically say anything about the Switch though…gonna check more into it but I’d imagine since this pertains to the NNID itself that it would also apply to the Switch.

Looks like things are officially linked to the acct as of at least Feb. Several articles and posts that popped up around Feb.17 concerning it.
