I don’t know crap about the DS but I plan on getting one soon(FF IV remake FTW), so I have some questions.

-Are they region protected?
-Are flash carts really useful/expensive?

dses are region free.
and yes/no

r4 is 30 bucks + micro sd card price.

Cool thanks! One more question, what’s the best place to order japanese games or flash carts these days? Are Lik-Sang or Play Asia still solid?

For imports Play Asia is still tops in my book.

I would have to agree with you; I never buy my imports anywhere else. I have never had a problem with play-asia.com.

WHERE?

the place that has em are OOS
nobody tell him PLEASE

So I am completely in love with Elite Beat Agents; I haven’t had this much fun playing a video game in years. I’m not talking about playing Final Fantasy for six hours straight levelling up fun, but real, genuine fun.
Honestly, when was the last time you played a game that didn’t feel like a chore?
Someone brought this to my attention the other day, and I have to agree with them. But I digress, because I’m a hypcrite.

Out the five games I mentioned I picked up in one of my lasts post, EBA has by far had the most attention. Secondly would be Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Not much to say here, it’s Castlevania with a bit of a twist to it. I really enjoy it.

I’m not crazy about Sonic Rush; I read review after review about this game and saw that alot of people liked it. I was blinded by all the reviews and hype that I completely overlooked one crucial thing: it’s a Sonic game.
I’ve never really been a big fan of Sonic; maybe it’s because I had Nintendo products most of my life, but I just can’t get into it.

I haven’t played Guilty Gear that much, mainly because I’m not in a fighting game mood lately. I knew it wasn’t going to be like all the console ports of GG, but I was actually looking forward to that; it has an engine that similar to Jump! Ultimate Stars, which I love.

Revenant Wings came in the mail; I’ve played maybe two hours or so, and I haven’t really been sucked into, but I haven’t had much time to be sucked into it. Too busy. It’s just what I need, though; I’m in a different continent and I won’t be going home for Christmas so I have almost two weeks off of work. It will be nice to blow lots of hours on an RPG (yes, I realize I touched on how this is bad sometimes).

Anyway, I still want to pick up a fun platformer: nominees are Mega Man ZX Advent, Contra 4, or a handful of others (possibly Yoshi DS).

Kingndom Hearts 365/2 is going to be playable at Jump Festa this year, and I’m still hoping to hear about a sequel to Jump!. If ever it gets announced, it’s going to be there.

I’m hoping to hear about an FFIV NA realese soon…

Revenant wings is a blast. Slow moving especially if you are trying to get everything. Im 100% and on the last boss.

Geometry Wars is sold out all over town where i live…:frowning:

Yeah, it’s going to be fun trying to get everything until I’m tank-like.

Everyone is talking about Geometry Wars like it shits kittens; I guess I should see what it’s all about.

I 3rd this, Play-Asia is so full of win. I import all of my DS games from there, along with buying other random stuff. If you plan to import a lot, the fact that they will email you coupons is another huge plus. $8 off Christmas coupon = dope.

My pimp glossy black DS failed…left finger button stopped working. I probably put too much pressure on it and/or from carrying it around in my pocket. Good thing my girl got the best buy 2 year protection plan for $19.00. I walked into best buy and exchanged it for a brand new Crimson Red DS.

Did the side by side brightness test w/my girl’s black one and yes, they are exactly the same brightness. This will be the second one I personally tested since I gave one as a gift to my little sis. Gotta say that I originally wanted the same pimp glossy black DS but…the Crimson Red DS is slick as hell w/teh matte black and metallic red cover. Its a win!

The **Crimson Red DS **seems like it would be way less prone to scratches and fingerprints since the black is matte. The red part…we’ll see. The black one showed every imperfection…like glossy black does on everything.

I was deciding whether the side by side brightness test was valid or not too, since i heard the crimson red was much darker. The article that I read said that this difference was from a comparison between crimson red and the early black DS lites. I guess choosing the color wouldn’t make a difference then, if it’s a matter of production time.

Let me know about the red part in a few days if you can. I gotta buy my DS soon, before my trip so I can play on the way. Thanks.

First pics of Blue Dragon DS and Mistwalker’s new DS game, “Away”

Also, Card Hero (I think its the one from the Pokemon team) and Soma Bringer

Nice, thanks for the links:tup:

Away looks old-school; I love it.

Who is developing Soma bringer? Nintendo?

I would believe the DS Sales numbers; everytime Im in a game store here I overhear atleast ten people looking for DSs and everytime they tell them they’re sold out.

So I went to this game store downtown I rarely visit, and I found that they import popular NA titles. I picked up Bleach: The Blade of fate but haven’t had a chance to play it. Im going to be super busy DS wise for the next while.

 • ChairHome, good looking out.

- Dungeon Explorer’s coming to the DS with WiFi play! And it’s coming to us in February! Still, I’d want 4 guys. Three’ll do.

 • LOL It still prints money.

I’m really liking Bleach: Blade of Fate so far. I tried out Wi-Fi a few times and got killed by a player using Gin. I’m glad you can disable cards, because something like that is not needed in versus. I can’t wait to try out Wi-Fi four-player battles…I just hope it isn’t laggy as hell.

I haven’t tried out or unlocked all of the characters, but so far I like Ichigo and Renji. Ishida seems powerful too as long as you can keep your distance. Oh yeah, Orihime has an aegis reflector. I’m not sure if she’s any good in versus play, though…seems pretty weak to me.

Challenge mode is pretty cool…I love modes that have you perform specific combos since it teaches you how the game works. Some of the combos seem really hard, but that’s probably because I’m new to the game.

If anyone wants to add me, here’s my FC: 1031-9817-9100

Once I start playing, I’ll gladly play ya:tup:

Batch of videos for super shots in the upcoming “Super Dodgeball Brawlers”

… I still remember Bill’s Spear shot.

Looking good.

Gameplay looks a tad slow, though. I hope it gets sped up a bit.

finally a nekketsu kunio kun game on DS!!!
