found by accident and if it is known already than ignore. you can st. mk vega out of sky hi claw? just hit st mk right after he jumps off wall. works at just about any distance except when he is in corner and you are close. he comes off the wall too quick for me. if you think he is doing claw and he does reg wall jump stuff you can cancel st mk into rolling dash to escape the attack.
Since i cant edit post. Correction…
You cant cancel mk, or i cant at least. But you can still roll dash to escape flying barcelona attack after wiffing st mk.
My bad

sorry for the posts. me and my phone were not getting along. modern wonders of technology. arent they great.
Been playing around a bit more with Nina strings in here and playing some more of her in TTT2. Are people using them much?
I’ve been weaving s.MP, s.MP to trap people on block and going into df.LK~MP to see if I can hit confirm and launch for some combos or just go straight into Geyser follow ups.
The Ninas I run into online are just fishing for c.MK xx Geysers. Are her short limbs discouraging?
I’m not gonna lie, I fish with c.MK or st.MK. That range is so good. And catching people with st.HP into launcher is awesome!
what are good air to air normals for Nina, and also what do you guys use for her block string pressure
i use mp for a2a, works great
mk/hk works aswell but its a bit slower. i use it for far engagements
Cr. fierce into ducking or stand forward from the right distance
If I’m feeling flashy, I’ll do ducking into arm break
Honestly I don’t think she needs to go for anything else. Nina, in my opinion, is just a punish character. All I go for is:
1.) A skull crusher from max range to catch them standing into ambiguous jump ins
2.) low short/fowrad or stand forward into GC
3.) forward, short, strong into max damage combo
4.) Counter poking
That’s it. I don’t see a reason to do anything else. That shit works and has been winning me local tournies here
I don’t like the for., short, strong string too often. I know it’s safe but there are gaps. It doesn’t all connect a lot of the time. Still a good string to use, sparsely.
I’d also add the flash kick (first hit) > strong string and the jab, strong, for. strings.
The first string is great on frames, reach but I don’t use it all the time since the st. mp can whiff at max range and you can’t manually launch after the st. mp. The second string is nice because the kick cause them to reel and you can switch cancel for ground combos.
I’d also add Ivory cutter during footies and for switch cancels for ground combos.
Things I’ve been meaning to add to my game include cr. fierce anti air xx rolling dash mixups.
how often do you guys use Nina’s standing reset?
Used to do it a lot. Not so much nowadays since I switch a lot more (to heal grey life). Mostly because you have to shorten your juggles to get it to connect.
I try to use it atleast once in a set to tag in Nina from Poison. I feel like using it once always catches people off guard.
I use it as apart of my game plan, being able to mix it up is half the fun. Am I gonna Ivory Cutter for the down backers?you can bait DPs, or cr.MK into full combo.
If it’s gonna be my 1 meter combo and I’m leaving Nina in, I will use it off Ivory Cutter bind after a raw tag combo.
How do you time Nina’s command grab, or do you just mash buttons faster? I always end up getting punched at the back on the third grab and the opponent usually escapes during the crossface part.
About Nina’s Rolling Dash, does its invincibility only apply to the upper half of her body? I also noticed that her Geyser juggles a bit similar to Kazuya’s EWGF juggle, albeit weaker.
I don’t find her full command grab to be all that. backhand slap is good enough for me.but seeing Chaoslimit get the command grab off an ivory cutter blew my mind, never knew she could do that.
Oh I’ll want to see that. I’ll go visit his channel then.
So far I managed to time arm break to double arm break, but it’s still hard to time backhand slap to arm break.
Also, there are times that my Backhand Slap will cause a flash effect, as seen in this pic.

What is causing the flash effect, and what is the difference between it and a Backhand Slap without the flash? o_O
Flash effect is the unbrockabru just-frame version E-Arm Break which does double damage!
(not intended to be a factual statement).
Trolling aside, backhand slap cannot be blocked high. That flash (glass break) animation happens whenever you ‘guard break’ someone. That means the guy was blocking high and got backhand slapped. The same thing happens with kings unblockable backflip. Also, Ivory cutter > backhand only works after a certain number of juggles so you have to shorten your combos if you want to do it (meterless).
I never complete the throw cos I automatically go for the reset. I’ve lost a match vs RagingRay like that; the second hit of the throw would have ko’d.
