Lukus, every post of yours anymore makes me want to spam YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG image macros all over the thread. You try so hard, man, but you just read the words without grasping the actual point behind them.
Sirlin’s book actually highlights the issue brought up here. The crux of his message, which is also my central point, is that shit-talking and hype can help push a scene to eventually beat Japan or such…but you need to get the numbers first, which is accomplished via a more friendly/nurturing attitude.
The numbers are not even close to there yet with SNK here, so driving people away is not in our best interest.
Ever wonder why people are more receptive to Keits and I than you? We work to find strategies and info on our games and don’t hide anything, we always try to answer any questions people have (yes, even for the 5th time in a row), we implement new ideas, we (mostly) remain civil in arguments on banning and such, and we don’t invest our egos in this shit. We could, with some legitimacy, proclaim ourselves “WHP WORLD CHAMPIONS” and buy WWF title belts with those words and tell people they don’t understand the game half as well as we do, but we have enough perspective to realize how utterly beyond pathetic that would be.
Seriously, what have you contributed as of late? Just casual matches against people who don’t know how to play (BREAKSHOT MAI’S FAN COMBO WHAT THE HELL) and Mexican vids which are actually good…but you used to do a lot of the same work we currently are. I haven’t seen much of that in a long while, AND you’ve continually embarrassed yourself and, by extension, all SNK players.
In short, if it’s so easy to get you this worked up on an internet forum, it would be better for all of us if you posted less. At the very least, if you get pissed, go to youtube or something.
