The Triad did not get whomped either time. Justin won and deserves his props, and the current #1 spot- but I doubt he’ll keep it unless he finds some good practice- which isn’t a lame Goodman-allowed tourney which only you seem to be calling for.
Now, I’m not about aping the Japanese, but they banned him for a reason, the Japanese don’t hand out the banhammer like candy, or Arturo. (j/k there Arturo)
The Points system I doubt would work, and would vote against it despite bringing the idea out, but a Goodman tourney would be a disaster, and hurt the scene. Bad idea.

But if I accept and modify things to accomodate for it…I get the other side of the problem…which is what we are seeing.

My idea, and what I think would be the closest you’d get to beating him: play A MM with Kim-Big not allowed. That should give Wong enough of a handicap to make it competitive.
Tourney shouldn’t have those rules. Just the standard rules. THis isn’t a situation like KOFXI where you CAN argue for the non-boss console chars (with the exception of EX Kyo possibly)
As for Kim/Big counters. I still think Mars People does ok against Big, and is a reason why I pick him. He has a lot of bad matchups otherwise though. Triad disagrees with me, and well, they whomp me with their Bigs, so take it with a grain of salt. Then again Triad LOT better then me, I just dabble at the game. I think Shiki can do well against either char. Haohmaru can do ok vs Big. Big shouldn’t lariat much against Mars, Mars can beat a mistimed lariat, and can control when he attacks some Dhalsim-style. Then again Big might be able to punish my weak crap using GCFS- I haven’t seen that tried much though.
Mars doesn’t do well against Kim though.
One reason 98 still gets play, despite having its own Kim-big team in Iori/Goro/O-Yash, is that you can counterpick that team some. It’s a lot easier to counterpick in a game with two chars.
Ill let Justin play Big-Kim…like I say I dont fear it or him…he has little exposure to Tung-Athena… (or my now refined post NEC8 Big-Tung) which doomed Mago…so Justin could very well be next…
Also would he accept a MM without Big-Kim if thats all he plays?? Either way I want Justin at his best… I’m for the competition… Plus I want that third NGBC Title to separate me from the Triad… :devil:

Justin reads and destroys gimmicks for free. You have to come at him with something solid or you’re already dead.
The reason the guy plays the game is because he knows so few good players actually play it, guaranteeing him money. Most good players think it’s garbage and avoid it.

Mudman NGBC Primer
-Instant dive kicks are king…its instant overheads and very abusable. Vs. Big though be careful.
- His bnb low combo to mixup with Overheads- cr.b,cr.a, df+D/C? I believe. Also mix in running throw with this mixup also.
-Zone with high and low fireballs with qcf+p/k.
-Zone 98 Iori style throwing low running man fireballs and if they jump doing his qcfx2p running man super to punish them jumping.
-He can float in the air with ABC and then come down to qcb+k, then to dive kick…its a DG patented trick I use.
-He has horrible matchups vs. Tung and Big… Big’s lariat takes away Dive Kick free…Tungs Anti Air Muscleman takes the shit away also…so be careful…its not in your best interests.
-Use Sprite Sphere (qcfx2 k) for chip damage as well as baiting the opponent to block high.
Hes very simple so thats about it…

I use Mudmans qcfx2 k sphere for chip damage and to gimmick people to blocking high then I go low…

couple things
how is mud gyro ( down 2.sec u+P ) as antiair / pressure stopper, i almost never use it ( and i don’t have the game on me at the moment )
also you forgot hit confirm close C qcf+A xx super mudman or hcb,f+C ( away from corner ) or B ( cornered )
you can use heaven cross ( hcb,f+a,b,c,or d depending on location ) to punish marco grenades and vomit super / tung level 3 / various other stuff
last time i played this game seriously at C3 tornadoflame owned me up, he leveled up from playing clayton and steve harrison…i’m not even at that level anymore but maybe it’s because i main shermie and mudman… -_-
I wouldn’t even use Mud Gyro as an anti-air. It IS somewhat useful as an anti-crossup though…
