Anyone know how to follow up up after Rei’s DP without homing cancel? Is there like a jump install mechanism in this game?

You just jump. Only works with the light version I think. The way to make it go down is to just do the j.C early enough that the jump doesn’t really happen, you just go down instead.

And there is a jump install like mechanism but it’s not at work here. The JI-like mechanism is used with Thouther to get extra stars with his C attack, and maybe in some other places.

I know it may be in this thread somewhere but I’m kinda pressed for time:

Is there a list of changes for the Ps2 version and stuff that still works and how to do the glitches and weird stuff that still works? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, the glithes that were removed for the PS2 version are:

Rei’s infinite dragon punch

Shin’s invincibility

Mamiya’s bike collision glitch

As well as a few other randoms, like sound bugs and such. Only dramatic change I remember is Juda’s 623A having longer range on console, making a few combos not possible.

As far as the bounce/dribble infinites go, they’re all there… 29 - 31 hits is the magic area where the glitch initiates. 31 hits, it’s guarenteed. When at 29 it’s possible to do three OTG hits and still initiate the glitch afterwards. Just a matter of keeping them in the bounced state and it’s free combos for you…

Random bit of trivia, but it is also the magic number for the arial glitch in SBX…

Thouther as also some quite important changes on ps2, kaiten super is nerfed which sucks for the possible damage output okizeme setups using it. The other change is nice though, 236 moves get the TK star effect as spear and 214 projectile do on atomiswave, you can get boost free 3 star FKO combo in the corner thanks to this.

Another change is there is no slowdowns on ps2, that can be good with some chars, for exemple with Shin the “Naori special” combo suffers from slowdown more or less depending on the stage and that can be quite annoying, no slowdown make it more easy as no timing changes will be needed.

Heart’s throw infinite works on different characters in the PS2 version as well, which is a big deal if you play as Heart.

I play Souther as a main and Heart as a backup, so I knew about the TK fireball shit and the grab loop but I didn’t know you could JI other moves with Souther. I also gotta figure out ways to actually use his speed up because it was nerfed.
