wasnt callin u a noob callin the person in the video a noob get it right
Its awesome how much work and references to the anime/manga went into this game! Everywhere you look there is something that can be traced back to the anime with little random elements.
Take Souther. I just finished watching some of the 80’s anime on youtube, and the reason souther has Akuma-like stamina is because his fighting style was all offensive with almost no defense. He didn’t even assume a fighting stance when attacking nor blocking, as that would “imply he placed priority on the defensive”. Which shows in the games the way he does not “block”, but stands there and absorbs the attacks.
Hokuto Shin-Ken did not work on him either due to his reversed heart/vital points. During the first fight between him and kenshiro, he just stands there and laughs as ken wails away thinking he is striking souther’s vital points.
Along with everything else from the fatal KO to his Pyramid super(which is how he killed Shuu). Great stuff!
lol, Ken-Oh gets that link every time D:
Pharaon did both
Yeah it’s pretty sweet. Here’s a cool video comparing the anime to the game:

On top of that, it also has a lot of identical quotes from the anime. In light of HnK coming out for PS2 I took it upon myself to watch the anime.
In fact pretty much every quote in the game is said by that character in the anime at some point. Also, as far as I know like 90% of the moves in the game are from the anime(Like Jagi’s oil drum isn’t technically in the anime nor the gasoline spill move, but they’re direct references to his character).
Well, you can pretty much rest assured that the entire game is a reference to the anime. The only added stuff was like intro quotes for characters who normally never met(Jagi vs. Juda).
They did a great job on the character design. They play exactly as you’d expect them to from watching the anime. The only thing they really didn’t capture, which I actually don’t care much about, is the gore. But I dunno the game would seem somehow cheapened if Kenshiro could explode Rei/Toki’s head
Yeah it rocks! This game is like a kickass tribute to the history of the anime, and an awesome fighter with game play that can stand on its own too.

How many hits of super armor does Heart’s BD grab have?
Can someone break down good uses for Raoh’s hcf+D?
I have seen people do cr. d and then cancel into hcf+d, but I always miss it. I guess I just suck at pressing down and doing a hcf. I am looking for practical advice regarding the move because it produces many more combo options.
thanks
er, what do you mean by missing it? are you whiffing, or is the move not coming out?
if the move isn’t coming out, you have to do it really late for it to work, but you should be able to do it out of any recovery frame
2D, 41236+D, can be used as a sai combo starter.
623C, 41236+D can surprise some people and acts as another sai combo starter.
that’s all I know how to use it.
I usually pull it out when I see the 2D hit (when Raoh’s leg is fully stretched out) and then have no problems hitting them unless I use 2D from max range.
Like 2-3.
Your av is Godly. Chibi-Souther FTW!
It does not come out. I only get it to come out when I do the hcf+d extremely fast after the crouching D, and it is a huge pain for me to motion a hcf from the down position. Any other good setups? I need me some jump cancels.
hcf+d is good to cut the recovery of anything. It’s also nice in that it’s basically a ‘get in’ tool for you. Cheap trick is to knock someone down in the corner, and do a charge up, and cancel into hcf+D. Either gets you a big damage combo, or just into a mixup.
Hcf+D has a weird cancel point. I find it tends to be easier if you hold D (don’t know why) and purposefully do it very late.
I guess I am trying to cancel it too fast. Thanks a lot for the tips.

History Requirements:
Ken vs Heart
- Get hit by Heart’s BS
- Kill Heart with Ken’s IK
Oh… man, haha. Thanks!
i just saw the jagi’s portion of the hnk dvd and the “grab” against shin
was fucking amazing
- 623 C (Hokuto Raretsuken)
- 41236 C (Hokuto Goshoha)
- 214 A (Hokuto Donryukoho)
- Any basic move recovery time (whiffed standing D being the best way)
Delay it as much as possible so that your opponent thinks you’re done, and get a nice counter + super armor.
Does anyone know where I can watch videos that show the historical moments being displayed in the matches.
