I have a PS2 in my arcade cab with HAPP comp sticks and buttons.
I also have a TV (about 32") that I can bring into the living room and play on also. I have a SF ann. stick modded w/ happ parts to use for this.
I haven’t really had any time to play since it has been released… I have JUST finished moving down to the OC. I plan on powering up my Rei hopefully this week so I can be ready for the gathering.
In HD, it doesn’t even feel like there is loading at all:bgrin:
Yeah, we need some good matches, I’ve been using Jagi and Shin a lot, but I still use Juda
Does anybody ever noticed that when you use a full powered AB for an unblockable, it doesn’t work right anymore?
I remember I used to do that in the arcade, and it hits, slams the opponent and takes a star off, but when i tried it on the PS2, it felt like the opponent had super armor and didn’t took off a star?
Sounds good… I am looking into getting a custom CP to fit Sanwa parts so I can have a Japanese setup too, but I do not have the money for that right now.
reverse parry? is that when you block at the last moment, like just defend? So it prevents the unblockable powered up moves? Sorry, just started playing the game and you pretty much just said this but I just want confirmation:sweat:
Yep. Basically, IBing(Instant Blocking) from Guilty Gear but the timing window is a bit tighter. If you successfully perfect guard in HnK your character will flash white for a second then say something in Japanese. Differs depending on the character though. But yeah basically tap back the instant you’re about to get hit prevents you from even moving from a charged CD(or any move for that matter).
Also, if a charged unblockable CD winds up hitting you while you’re guarding, and you’re decently far away from the wall, you can mash out of it to prevent damage and wallbounce/star loss.
Yeah, I was referring to blocking at the last moment. I wasn’t sure, but I think it’s called agility defense in this game. And yes, you can use this to negate the push-back from a fully powered-up CD (Vanishing/Banishing Strike).
EDIT:
Or you can just read RedBeard’s better explanation
Raoh actually doesn’t do THAT much damage on a per-hit basis. Heart is definitely the guy to go to if you like doing massive damage in single hits.
Shinto: You cancel j.236D with a jump.
To whoever messaged me the other day about doing Stomp sets with Souther (maybe Turbovec?) … here’s a really simple way to do it on Ken and other problem characters:
