Well we finally got some news in generalâŚbut it isnât good news.
Dueling Network got hit with a Cease and Desist Letter. All their images are gone. They survived a C&D last time, but most of us knew they pretty much only live at Konamiâs leisure. Worst part is that it doesnât even seem like Konami is behind this, but the animation studios. But with Konami coming out with new simulators and such in the near future it was believed it was only a matter of time.

They want Dueling Network to close down? Are they trying to kill off the franchise? Thatâs how like 90% of the players even get into the game. You can make up a deck using any card you want and if you like it enough can go and buy the actual cards. No one is going to invest 100 for a card if they donât if itâs good or not through testing online. If this actually happens itâll be one of the companyâs dumbest moves.
Maybe if, again, Konami were the ones directly involved. While it would not surprise me if Konami dogpiles, at the very least it would be with the intent of promoting their own online stuff later. Letâs just hope it doesnât go the Magic Online route.
Play testing is important and Konamis online formats are very lackluster. If they made a subscription based service where all the cards are updated/free Iâd be okay with it.

Kozmos werenât touched at all (unless you still ran Reasoning). They really struggle very little with 2 E-Tele. PK Fire got boosted, Monarchs got untouched.
Really the top of the format was basically untouched outside of Pendulums.
Only surprise to that list is Upstart going to 1. You knew that Konami wasnât going to neuter Kozmo and Monarch the way that they did Pepe. They learned their lesson.
Well, I have little to no reason not to play monarchs full time now. Iâm not going to shell out all that money for Phantom Knights/BA. Hell I could just play BA. knowing konami theyâll nerf another random deck into the floor. Got to love it.
