This is why i hate the TCG sometimes. The banlist isnāt dictated by playability, but itās dictated by business. I would suggest a community banlist, but that would just cause a bunch of internal arguing and community splits.
I mean, Fairies in general are decent enough, just not Fortune Ladies.
And JD was at three, and so was every LS related card not counting Charge of the Light Brigade, because it was figured out that a deck thatās centered around unreliable milling will always be subpar. The only reason Lightsworns are getting any play now are due to Kuribandit getting around the biggest LS weakness, milling S/T. Mathematician lets them mill what they need at will, and then of course Soul Charge (though thatāll matter more after the Structure). Once the structure hits, theyāll have Raiden for on-theme Main Phase milling which is huge and itās a Level 4 tuner. But even with all of this, itāll fall short of Zombies and Rulers and eventually Sylvans when it comes to similar deckstyles just due to the fact that LS is the most volatile of the three.
Well it also can be a business to the players too. Itās like an expected stock market shift every three months which lets you ditch or buy up cards as needed. But in the end, I donāt mind the Banlist being decided as it is now. At least then I know that shit being hit isnāt a crime of passion. Besides, my issue with the banlist isnāt so much things being over hit, but not enough things being brought back after theyāve been power creeped.
But things might be changing too. Dark Strike Fighter got his errata and will likely be off the list at 3 the second it gets reprinted just due to the fact itās nowhere near as powerful anymore. Theyāre doing a lot of things that are actually less cost effective for them, to help players out. Not to mention, after years of terrible anime cards theyāre finally keeping effects faithful while changing enough to keep them playable. I mean, other than Soul Charge ruining everything, Dragons of Legend is a great set that opens up so much new innovation because they brought something we havenāt had in a while. Good, generic main deck cards instead of just constant archetype support. Now you can get more creative with how things go.
For example, there was a deck made for ARG that didnāt do that well between four players because in the short amount of time of its conception they just could not figure out all the plays in time. I honestly think thatās good when a deck needs time to work like that.
On top of that, thereās just more content and imports being released in general.
Honestly, other than Soul Charge the game is in a much better place than it was a year ago at this time where LTGY had just come out (or was about to) and Rulers and Books ruled the roost with an iron fist.
Iāll do that, especially after seeing all these Blackwings that I donāt recognize⦠Seriously, what the hell are these things? Somebody help me⦠I donāt know how to build a BW deck anymoreā¦:shake: I donāt even want to think about what else I missed. Oh, boy, am I in for a surpriseā¦
I tried to make it as close to my original BW deck as possible. I was shocked to see that half of it is banned. Sangan, Heavy, Trunade, Reborn, Brain Control, Solemn, CCV⦠:wtf:
Fuck this⦠Dueling Network is confusing as hell. Why, in Minatoās name, do I have to do everything manually? :nono: Downloading that other thing. Never mind .
I donāt remember the debut, but they were all at least limited(besides Reborn, which they unbanned then swiftly banned again) when I quit. I think Solemn was at 3, though. Either way, itās crazy lol.
Yeah I was thinking about doing that.
Probably D-Prison. Even with 41 cards. Most of the duels Iāve gotten started with getting the loop off in some form.
Only trouble Iāve come across is Maxx C or Veiler.
Iāve got it, itās pretty good, I like it just because the card searching is so good, very easy to look through cards and effects.
If I were you, Iād find a game save, because getting playsets of 6000+ cards is not the business, itās far better than dueling network as far as online because it always resolves things with the correct rulings, the shuffling system is better, and duels are much quicker due to the automatic nature of the game.
The single player is pretty good, but itās not until you unlock expert mode that things get really fun because you get to play against good builds of decks that may not be standardly played.
Like I had no idea how worms were supposed to be played until I went toe to toe with a cpu character.
