GG…well for me GT (good times) because I didn’t play anything but laugh damn near the whole night. Fox and Hound was fun too and yes Midway should be ashamed of themselves for those MK stances.
Panda isn’t ARK staff and he isn’t doing the main stream for us. We’d like to help him get his stuff off the ground so we offered to let him stream our afterparty. It’s more of a partnership between ARK and what Panda does than anything else.
That being said, we don’t have any problems pimping out other tournies in the area and whatnot. We’re out to help the entire South and surrounding states grow. If we’re going to bring recognition to our area, we have to help each other out. Otherwise it’s nearly impossible to compete with the coasts. There is no reason why people shouldn’t consider our players when they list the top players across the nation. I know we have the talent. We just don’t have the exposure.
I guess I meant “ark” as “Arkansas” since he lives there. =) Exposure is an issue for many places but that “one” chance XXX player has to beat the person that comes to town has to count in order for them to come back…
We can do good cop, bad cop for SFxT. Except, since I also dont care about the game any more, it could be more like constructive criticism cop, hater cop.
But one stream has to be me, Sev, Mike, and Dax exclusively on commentary. No “constructive” nothing…if I see Cross on the screen, I want only pure ignorance, belligerence, and nigga rage in that microphone.
Regarding the DmC trailer: Sev and I had a good conversation about this earlier. With each passing day of this current gaming generation, I become more and more jaded with it. But the optimist in me REALLY wants to like this game, I’m not gonna lie. Sev and I agreed that the problem with this game as it exists is that it’s a bastardization of the universe and characters that we love. I’ve been saying since the game as first announced that Devil May Cry does NOT need a reboot. SO MANY DEVELOPERS make the mistake of thinking that they need to reinvent the wheel with their franchises when that’s just not the case. Think about what Devil May Cry is known for - super over the top stylish action. They basically created a genre of gaming with that series. Sure action games had been done before, but not with the same depth and intensity that DMC brought to the table. A super badass antihero, swords, guns, hoes, demons, and pretty decent story for an action series seems like a recipe for success. So why stray from that formula? I think Capcom got nervous from the reaction to DMC 4, which is why they went with all these wild design decisions and Ninja Theory behind the development reigns. Thing about that is, it was their fault. They were SUPER lazy with DMC 4, specifically in regards to level design and Dante’s role in the game.
Now, ALL THAT BEING SAID I watched the new trailer expecting the worst, but it actually wasn’t *terrible. *Every point you guys brought up about it was valid. I COULD FORGIVE ALL OF THAT IF, AND ONLY IF, this bitch is FUN. And THAT’S what I’m hung up on - the gameplay is looking pretty solid in my opinion. The jury is just gonna have to deliberate on this muhfukker until January, because I gotta play it to pass final judgement.
Oh and to anyone that cares - new Busta Rhymes album is…aight. More Bussa Buss is always a good thing, but you can definitely “feel” that he’s signed to Young Money. the best tracks on the album are the ones with just Bust spitting. Also NO DILLA BEATS = EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE NIGGY J.
I did find out that his studio debut on the new “label” (YMCMB and Young Money shall henceforth be known as “the label” because I hate typing out the words “Young Money” or that whack ass acronym) comes in November. I’m sure we’ll see features from “the label” but I’m hoping we get a Buss that’s a bit truer to form.
I’ma go back and cop The Coming and Genesis and go about my gat damn business.

@ Squab!: I liked what I saw against Bishop. You definitely have enough common sense to be worked with and become a competent player relatively soon if game interests you and you keep at it. Not much at all you can do against Jin if you don’t know the character. Very safe and many frame traps. I know freetime is tight, but if you played me at least once a week, you could get acclimated to overall flow of matches and Tekken mindset. If not me, or unable to stop by a few random sessions for rotation against the players, then it’d be very good to play Sev whenever you can. You my guy and all, but I wouldn’t give a fuck if you touched game or not if I didn’t see something that could “potentially” carry you far. You won’t understand right now, but things will start making sense later. If you only want to play the game for fun or casually, cool, just say. But if you think that you might ever want to go to tourneys for it or compete in spare time then re-read this post again.
He’s in Bartlett now so the potential for chicks of all flavors ending up at his place one way or another is at a decent high.
