But it got Josh to admit his secret love for the man he despises. Good work, soldier!
On a lighter note, Just got done with a 15 hour shift, the second location now has machines and stuff inside. and a big fucking tv. And with that, I leave to say good morning to my wife and then haggar mvc3 splash from the roof into bed until tonight. hooyeah
Gurkha - His Majesty’s Reserve
22 year old aged tobacco infused with a bottle of LouisXIII Cognac. (Yes, the tobacco sleeps in the cognac for a long time!)
Hand rolled and sealed in glass container to keep perfect moisture levels.
Most expensive cigar in the world according to some!
FUCKING BEST CIGAR I have tasted to this day! Still haven’t had a true Habano(Cuban) though!
That’s what I like about it. You actually have to put a little time into it to be proficient, unlike MvC3 and (some of) AE. It also GREATLY depends on which character you’re trying to use. Characters like Carl, Arakune, and Rachel are just hard to learn. Ragna, Tager, and Jin are pretty easy to pick up. Once you get over the rough learning curve, the game is a ton of fun.
Lrn2block is in every game. Hell, MvC3 has longer combos than BB. AE’s bnb’s are just really short since it’s usually not a good idea to go for fancy combos with money on the line. Have fun playing footsies all day…
Yeah, winning games by pressing a single button when your opponent presses a button and you kick their hand/foot is pretty badass.
I love street fighter for that reason. All my friends have the worst footsies ever, so I win by poking most of the time.
It’s not the blocking, it’s the combos. 5B - 3C - 2D6- C8-C8C-C-236B-B-B-B-B. It’s shit that you can’t just figure out, you’ve got to actually go into training mode and learn that you can jump cancel ground attacks and that each direction and a button press has a different property.
Aside: So I finally did Zero’s corner lightning loop last night to my friend, he took his hands off his stick and said “Man, I’m gonna quit this game too.” (We sort of caused him to quit playing SSFIV a few months ago) I was really excited that I actually landed that shit, but he was all emo so it took away from my celebration. When you’ve got a person who’s about to quit the game because they’re getting so frustrated about the game what should you do?
Better to just end it with with hp lunge. 419 damage with only 1 stock.
It’s not worth it unless its going to win the round/match.
But he builds meter so fast it’s kind of a toss up.
GGs Phil. I don’t think I’m playing AE for awhile after that.
Yeah, it gets a little ridiculous… The part that really irritates me about the game is that so many of those moves are literally useless outside of a combo. Not entirely sure bout CS2 now, but pretty much before it was like you have access to all these moves, only for 3-5 of them to be your actual good ones that lead to big damage. Bothering to use the others outside of a combo was pointless. A lot of moves had certain properties on them that were questionable… Like Hazama’s Venom Sword doing massive knockback on a counterhit… Not sure what it does now, I haven’t messed with it.
But that’s my main turn off now, is that you don’t put the most time and effort into learning technical aspects of the game, or zoning, or strategy… You literally just dump time into muscle memory for brain dead shit that both players are always trying to land. And then you have to worry about tech traps and other bullshit, so you have to not only learn your OWN 2 minute long combo, you have to learn when the other person is trying to frame trap you and shit during theirs. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun game, and I love the style… You just have to be in the right mindset for it… And right now I want to work on my fundamentals more. Which is why I’m enjoying Street Fighter, and even MK to an extent more than BB right now.
Hell I haven’t even booted up CS2 since that loli bitch came out. One loli per game is my limit man… they have two now. Fuck a whole lot of that shit. >:|
OOOOHHHHH YEEAAH… Not to mention the stupid (IMO) choices they made for some move properties in CS2… Hazama can only jump cancel the SECOND hit of his j.C now. Which is essentially a 5 hitting quick sword slash, so in other words… You have to launch them, jump, slash, slash, jump, slash x 5… It used to be you could just do slash x 5 and jump cancel any hit. SUCH a pointless change… if they wanted to nerf meter gain or something, they could have done it without such a fucking random change to move property… damn.
I would love to sit down and learn Guilty Gear… I only ever casually played the older ones (before AC+) on a pad… and never really learned much about the game in general. I’d like to seriously learn it with a stick sometime… I really wish they would at least release AC+ on XBLA or something…
lol… I have the CEO stream running on one of my tabs… every time I glance at it right now it’s a magneto flight combo
Lol keep wishing. People already know to steer clear of GG and stick to the EZ mode lulfests. Like Tekken, it’s a bit of a commitment to actually get serious in, and at it’s best it’s testosterone filled man-shit. Ironically enough, GG scene was filled with emo kids, closet gays, and Memphis. So much drama. Still was hardcore though.
If motherfuckers said, “Hey let’s pop GG scene back off”, old-school cats actually came outside again, and a few new guys actually wanted to learn it(like peeps are trying to do with Tekken) then no question I’m back on it. Instantly. But no one wants to play the games that aren’t streamed or have a bazilllion tutorial vids. Not even match vids. It has to be the vid where somewhere does one combo. Then they practice that combo and record themselves doing it, with Linkin Park music in the background. And so forth. No more watching A-Cho japanese vids with crappy quality on DivX and having to keep rewinding just to see what the fuck he linked with until your computer overheats and automatically shuts down. And then you just say fuck it and sit down and actually learn the character yourself and put your own stuff together. Nah, nowadays Bleed would actually have to sit down for a podcast interview and tell a million subscribers how he Mist stance canceled or TK one hit ensenga for people to play with Johnny. And they’d have to be able to win a T-Shirt first.
We’ll see what happens if this new GG actually does happen, and hopefully they just totally forget that they made BB when developing the new one. Hell, AC system had already transformed into one of the most complete engines in any fg. Point blank period. No one can argue against this. And if they just took AC and made ANOTHER revision with a few more tweaks just so it feels like a new game to whiners, and add 2 or 3 more charas, it’d be stellar. Then throw it on PS3/360 and it’ll sell. Unless the online sucks, cuz I forgot what generation we’re in. But I swear to God I’m not as hyped about a potential new one knowing it’s coming after BB. In fact, all these newer games in general just make appreciate GGXX series even more when I look back on it and all the shit I bitched about back then.
P.S. Yes, I’m riding GG’s jock. I can. Cuz It stays hard.
P.P.S. Yes I wrote all of that. Toilet rant. Fuck you.
I have to agree, I hope they don’t try to mix BB into GG for the new one… I also don’t know how I feel about them saying they want to tone it down to cater it to casual players… And this is coming from someone who played the shit out of BB since it came out. Leave that shit there, and make GG the way it should be made.
Reason I want a console port of AC+, is simply because I have no access to anything else it’s on with my stick… unless I download a ROM or some shit, which is always a hassle…
Guilty Gear AC+ is IMO the best fighting game ever made. Nothing else comes close in terms of depth, fun, flashiness, charcter designs, balance, story, etc. I can bring a GG setup to Hastings Wed, gotta get my Pot Busters on!
GGs to everyone today in Marville and Twin Fighter. Thanks again to Sev for hosting. I actually like fighting Yun, it reminds me of the Guilty Gear days when I fought Eddie for the 1st time. Dude could do whatever and I would lose. LOL…but in the end, it made me a MUCH better player at that game.
