So check this out, I went up to Hastings to grab some MS points and when I was at the counter, thanks to an “auto-coupon” I got $19.99 worth of MS points for $14.99! No tax even. I’m good with that.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
epic reply!
So, my database programming class is dragging out much longer than normal…
I blame it on my anticipation to get AE
Also, hi :>
Of course THIS guy is excited.
Man…am I the only one that gives less and less of a fuck about E3 each year? Well, I suppose I should clarify that to less and less of a fuck about the “big three.” I’ll pass on long, boring press conferences about big budget titles I don’t care about. I get more excited about the stuff from 3rd parties/Indie developers these days.
I guess I just feel like everyone’s trying to re-invent the wheel. People spend more time on like, social network integration and motion controls (dear God people can we move on from motion controls…this shit is tired) than they do on games. Yes, your game is pretty, and I can tweet from it, but is the shit FUN? At the end of the day, if a game is not fun, it’s not getting played.
One.
Good job, Jeremy.
Also, who gives a fuck about handhelds??? Seriously…
Handhelds have some amazing games on them, just depends on what you are in to.
I went to every single E3 from 1996-2007 and I was sick of them around 2002…the fun was everyone coming to town and all the arcade machines at the Capcom booth and comp…those days are long gone…
I hope everyone is watching the sony press conference right now…troll-no and SF x tekken is on stage!
Yeah I will fuck with some handhelds. I play my DS daily. I agree with Jason though…it depends on what you are into. That’s the reason I don’t have a Sony handheld.
Really Capcom…the nigga from InFamous is in the Vita version of SFXTekken? Fuck outta here with that shit…
Pretty much this. I couldn’t care less about E3 this year, or most years. This is by far the most stale generation of big-name gaming so far IMO, putting aside the great resurgence of fighting games. All I care about between now Mass Effect 3 are either remakes/ports of old ass games or indie/arcade titles. Gears of War 3, too.
I know they have some good games, they just seem so obsolete to me. It’s not the Game Boys days anymore where nobody has a cell phone or whatever. I imagine everyone who would use a handheld for actual portable gaming already has a fancy phone that can play games just as well. And if people are going to buy a handheld to sit at home and play it… why don’t developers just spend this effort to put a better version of these games on a real console…
QFFT (yes, the second “f” is intentional). The motion control fad really needs to stop. It would be a little different if the games were more fluid and put you more in control of the character, but that’s not the case. Right now, every motion control action game just has you flailing about in front of the tv like an idiot. That Star Wars kinect game they showed this morning looked so choppy and thrown together. The only good Wii games are the ones that don’t even use waggling. And don’t get me started on Sony’s dildo-of-a-controller.
Cole in SFxTekk? Fucking really?
Eh, it’s the portable version, not like it matters.
Also Sly Cooper fuckin’ 4, YES.
Dax with the ninja reply
more hype for Wipeout 2048 and SSX, NFS: The Run looks like shit
fuck the haters Uncharted 3 will be amazing
You know what? I totally missed the PS Vita part. Good call.
Seriously though. Look at the games I’ve had the most fun with this generation: It’s like, Bayonetta, Fighting games, then a ton of XBLA and Indie stuff. Pick any Triple A title out of a hat with the exception of a very select few and I promise you any of the games I mentioned are more fun.
I am talking to a close friend of mine on AIM and he made a good point. Historically he’s been the curmudgeon and I’ve been the optimistic one. When I brought it up he said this: “I have accepted that most of the industry has gone to gimmicks and bullshit…I just enjoy the good stuff that’s left.” That’s pretty much the realization to which I’ve arrived (hooray for grammar).
That being said I am really excited for “the good stuff that’s left.” I need to get to building my new pc so I can play Portal 2 and get back into Borderlands, play Bioshock 2, Mass Erect series… And yo is anyone else hype for Arkham City? I know I am. I am excited to see Capcom’s lineup, both fighting game and otherwise. Also Platinum Games can pretty much do no wrong in my eyes, so any news from them is good news.
totally ready for some E. Ryu trolling at midnight
