Crazy Super Skrull Entry
I think I want this game.
That combo challenge is pretty easy for Marvel. A MODOK combo with four cubes qualifies. lol
But, it’s cool seeing creative entries (like the Skrull one and the JoJo one). Luis’s derp entry cracked me up too.
Thanks man. I’m trying to keep it up to date as best as possible. I’m working on getting rid of that lame ass flash image slideshow BS but I have so little time to spend on the code that it’s going to come along in fits and starts.
Good stuff man! I, too, have been keeping up and reading it. I definitely lol’d at the pizza from the supermarket.
I just caught up on some reading of it too. I laughed at the story of the guy offering you a water after buying a cell phone. It just sounded awkward. The video of the small stairs was amusing as well.
Keep it up!
I’ve been reading it as well. Keep taking more video man, that shit is awesome. That stair video was funny, It was like watching the Dutch version of Mirror’s Edge.
good stuff with the blog Shawn. Keep it coming man!
Jason: Ah ok. Anything specific why multiple people weren’t allowed to enter in general? Or is the reason super secret locked away behind Liu Kang’s house in Konquest mode?
Chris: Dunno bro, we’ll see. But the VF5 alone is almost reason enough to try.
GGs to everyone at Hastings. Rapture happened, or hell froze over. Appreciate Tommy(Anotsu) being the lone wolf to come out and get games with these cats besides Gene, Derek(D-Wreck/Gamer X), and Robert(Booty Warrior).
Sev: You see? Do you not see what sacrifice was made to bring a new beginning to the lands?! Lol. Good shit, even though you were on stick yet still Flamingo canceling and styling. It’s all good. I can start back going hard and cheap on you now since you’re smelling yourself and seemingly getting better at the same time.
O: Don’t ask why. Just accept that your dream came true and help convert, I mean brainwash, er I MEAN ease these guys into stuff like Sev is. We"ll get games next time. See if you’re still BDC’ing or if your thumb bleeds now like a little bitch.
Jose: You know what it is. Thanks for recognizing real and supporting the scene. Keeping it hype and speaking truth. Get in the fucking lab now. And we gotta get some in.
Josh G: Props for going in on the Tek and for all your enthusiasm looking forward to learning shit aka wrecking people. Stick with “Lahz”. Great character in every way, and actually accessible. Just keep researching stuff and next time have some combos for all 70 of those launchers.
Johnny: Nice. Doing full Bryan combo off launch that you never drop. You can go about varying it in a bit but for now good shit on getting that damage. Pretty sure you’re gonna be beasting soon. No mapping.
Squabs: Lololololol props. Get the game(ps3), find a few peeps you like off top, go through movelists, see what appeals to you most, and narrow that down to one person to learn. Or, if you already got someone in mind, like Miguel, get a feel for him, and get at Bishop. I don’t think Jose or Johnny is gonna let you get on Brian’s nuts, and you guys play who you like, but frankly I’d like to not see 3 Brians low-sweeping and f,f+2’ing each other lol. Also, drive down the street sometimes and I will make you God Squab.
Abe: Gotta take that plunge man. Know too much shit about every fucking thing ever not to be holding a pad/stick lol. Seriously, you guys do what you gotta do. Net code is shit, but y’all are 360 and some peeps play online faithfully. Now they may never enter any actual tourneys or get scraped when they do, but they are familiar with moves, strings, and certain set-ups at the very least. So it might be good for something. But expect alot of offline training, which is nothing new to you guys anyway, and just know that the heart of this shit is locals, hype gatherings, “get better” sessions, and tourneys. That’s essentially what Tek scene is.
Again, ggs to everybody and big ups for picking it up, for however long you choose, whether it’s only for a week or whatever. That’s the week where you’ll grow into men. And alot of other stuff I wanted to say or knowledge drop but will just wait until you get more familiar and a decent enough feel because it’ll really be over your head and you won’t understand what the fuck I’m talking about. So just take time to cop a feel and educate yourselves some with what you can. Anything else just ask. And you’ll find that the only shit really set in stone is mechanics and punishment. The rest is pretty player dependent and mental, with various situations and set-ups, risks and depth. Kinda free-flowing and full of creativity which most of you can appreciate since you usually like overanalyzing the intricacies of systems, and this one has a lot. So when the fun is over the frustrations start, and the humps, and the hurdles, and the neverending race type of bullshit. Which is pretty fucking competitive.
P.S. Don’t worry at all about who you use. It’s impossible for tiers not to exist, of course. The thing is, the system and way the game is played allows it to be possibly the most balanced fg. And there’s an answer for anything. I whine, I bitch, but at least I know this. So whoever you decide to pick up, stick with if you really like because it’s kinda all preference and after a point it’s straight player progression and creativity, mental shit. You can be dry pack of saltine crackers style too, but I’m just saying.
My Asus Monitor should be here tomorrow so next week I’ll have full set up at fight night
So, after a few days of practicing, I FINALLY did a 9-cube combo with MODOK off of an aerial exchange. Not gonna lie, it felt good, especially since it was on pad.
FlyMike, if I’m looking at Jin, whose vids should I be watching? The LevelUpYourGame peeps don’t have a Jin video to my knowledge.
Also, holy shit:
Lol yo imma be straight up with you. No real top level Jin rep in US besides JustFrameJames sometimes at random tourneys and I’m not one of those guys that keeps up with every Korean who plays who.
P.S. Drag is a really good fucking character and scary on the brackets. Just fyi, since I saw you with a few stars in your eyes last night lol.
JFJ at WCW3 Grand Finals with Jin:
Shou is a DJ player but this is him on some Jin (old but same diff):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUmb_495r4
man Korea knows how to make there players look like stars with fucking wwe entrances and shit
broken.
Funny you should say that, I’ve just got done watching the Drag LvlUp video with Aris. Ask Sev, I’ve been thinking about picking up Sergei since I watched Max last night. Also, combos into grabs? SOLD!
I exaggerate of course, but yeah Dragunov is looking damn good. Shitty luck today though, the used copy of T6 Heather picked up for me today has a perfect circle scratch on it. So no Tekk for me til tomorrow after work.
Josh G. :That can be you.:wink2:
Abe: We got another player here you prob know, Herbert(H3), who mains Jin and plays a really solid Drag. He has leveled up alot over the past year and lives, eats, shits, breathes Tek now.
Aris is the most renown Drag in US but in Korea there’s Nobi and quite a few top level Drags. He’s so much better in T6 than he was in DR.
Imma wreck Drag’s Micheal Jackson lookin ass just beat yo ass peeps gonna be screaming are ok abe? are ok abe? you just been hit by you just been struck by lars
It has **begun……
GGs to Patterson Thug, Graham Bam Bigalo, Cody DamnDenkins, Justin Koontz-Oontz-Oontz, Zach Me Gusta EnZaladas, Andrew East…
and DIRK FUCKING NOWITSKI…seriously…did anyone watch the game tonight???
Shawn - I saw tumblr had some mobile functionality but didn’t look into it at all. Is it worth exploring? Could I keep up with Shawn In Dutch via Android?
