This new SRK is weird.

GGs to everyone at Cinderslam. Nice meeting new players there especially the ARK crew. As noted already, the tournament could have run better with better brackets. My biggest problem was there was no teams. Me, Dax, and Josh had our 3v3 team all plan out on our way there and at the end of the day, it just didn’t happen :frowning: Also, it was ps3 only (I knew before coming but still) so there could have been more setups if 360 was allowed and I could play on my 360 pad cuz ps3 pad sucks dick. Playing on stick wasn’t too bad. Sorry to Dax and Josh that I didn’t do too much commentating on yalls match, Duckie did most of it.

Dax: Thanks alot for the ride and waiting for me be late in the morning. Your new name is Clakey Dax or Daxtecks. Good shit in placing 5th in Marvel.

Josh: Clean yo ps3 stick. Good shit with them homo dive kicks.

Sev: Good shit at beating Flymike in Tekken lol. Your Viper scares the shit out of me in Marvel.

Duckie: Considering I was playing on stick with lil exp, I didn’t do too bad. Next time, I’ll show you why I don’t snap in Phoenix cuz I hate ain’t scared of that hoe in xf lv3 lol.

Eraser: I’m disappointed son. You lost to a one eye baldy. Ain’t you suppose to be an eye doctor.

I think I’m getting used to the new SRK. I miss animated avatars, but they let me put my old one in my sig so people can still find me by it. Kind of a trademark now. >.>

Thanks man, to be honest it really would have gone either way until I had the sudden and accidental revelation that I could just double jump and stuff Tron’s j.H with my own, and it worked every single time. It noticed this by complete accident at the beginning of the third match, went “wait a second…” and did it again, and sure enough it worked.

As for the stick, I forgot to tell you about that. Slide the stick toggle to “RS” and plug it in for 360 mode. Make sure you toggle it back to DP so you can move properly. On the bright side, it’s a great pre-match way to make sure you’re in the right position.

Ah shit ok now I see, I remembered how Jas’s stick was so I was holding the button down and plugging it in but never got anything, didn’t think about putting the switches on something other than DP. I am forever free.

Thanks for all of you who came down to Jackson MS. It was a fun drive up and enjoyed seeing some old faces and new ones.
Yeah I admit I got pissed off after the match with Orel. First time I ever got salty at a tournament but even Orel knows that the fightpad I was using (New Ryu Wireless PS3 fightpad) was stiff and wasn’t able to perform dp movements as normally as I can with my 360 fightpad. I had the same problem last year with the Ken wireless PS3 fightpad at Red September. I should of done what I did last year when I faced Orel and got my brothers TE stick and faced him with guile and stuck with it to get 4th place. But I told myself beforehand that I would stay with Sagat all the way and that I can’t use shoto character well with a stick. I could of tried Guile but I haven’t played around with him since last year’s Red September. So in a way I felt I was at a huge disadvantage and didn’t want to go out like that. Orel figured out that doing jumping roundhouse was beating me because I failed doing Tiger Uppercuts to punish it and I was so stubborn to get the DP out, but in a result I lost. GGs Orel! Having this issue happen to me again has leave me no choice but to mod my 360 fightpad ASAP!

So yeah just wanted to apologize the way I acted.

Yeah, Jas doesn’t have a guide button so he has to hold buttons down as a toggle. I like using the stick selector because it means you don’t have to hold anything down and it makes you do a pre-match check to ensure it’s in the right place. Anytime you need extra cables, just let me know. They’re $10 apiece, or $20 if you’d like the metal RJ45 ends like I use. I do give discounts if you supply the cables.

Oh, and I need to bring you a Cthulhu Boards sticker so you can join the Awesome Club.

I mentioned this in the results thread for CS2, but I can dual mod those pads now. PM me and we can talk shop.

New SRK fucking sucks. I like the new default font though. When are the people that design forums, or really any webpage that is mostly text for that matter, going to realize that dark(black) backgrounds are the way to go? Reading a blinding white webpage is like staring straight into a 120w lightbulb, especially on a 23 inch monitor.

Also, Outland rules. Go buy it. For 800 ms it is a steal. I think Duckie mentioned it at one point. Good call.

MK Tiers are starting to look more like mine but seriously, Smoke in 2nd Tier? Sub-Zero and Cyber in Top? Just because those two guys are GOOD with those characters does not MAKE them good characters.

As far as tourneys go, you guys know how people run tourneys, sometimes it is random, sometimes it is not. Seeding and running a tournament is a lot harder than it looks. It’s not like you just throw it in Tournament Maker and have at it…

Unfortunately in the dark theme some of the quotes show up in dark text…

As I poke around in the new srk, it does seem to be a bit more intuitive (save for multiquote, grrr). Also does it seem faster to anyone? Or is that just like, placebo effect from it being new?

PMs are better maintained too. I’ll take threaded shit over pretty much anything else any day.
