I give KoF like a day before people are complaining about the V-ism combos and I get to taste tears
I am not passing judgement till I play it and what not but I have to say any game with v-ims style combos ended up kind of broken.
If I can put Nina’s outfit on Zangief, this will be a day one purchase for me.

Crazy, crazy shit. I’ve seen ridiculous shit in 98 and 2002 just in GGPO, so no telling what goes down in the local pueblos. All the magic. Any followup or chain that is possible, they will do. Totally rape you and play you forever, never getting bored. Been doing the shit for 10 years or more, still not missing a beat.Then some will play you 3 matches and then send you something in bad english like, “turn of now”. Others will actually help you in a weird way like if you keep falling for the same stuff or your defense is piss poor, they send, “not be gay”. Then when you successfully punish or counter something for the win they’ll type, “that good” or “yes learn”.
I can tell you this, Mexican Chris from Nontraveler’s Dungeon said something to me on FB about the game. Coincidence? Fuck no. So I’ll be going back over Big Sean’s and won’t be surprised if he’s beating the life out of Jay or anyone else.
But we play Marvel? Early MK9? Lol. How are you giving it a day when players have given the game all of the year and a half since the arcade version has been released? Which, mind you, was not broken. BUT, in order to ensure that the same Marvel 3 Phoenix players who complained about CVS2 and Alpha 3 don’t bitch about this game(because we need their monies), for console we’re going to do a shitload of balance and general engine changes that either toned down stronger characters and buffed the “weaker” ones. If we fail now, it’s strictly on someone digging too damn deep to sniff out TECHNOLOGICALS.
Ok now that that’s addressed, the oh mah gawd V-ISM is the Hyper Drive system. Which is damn near the same thing as MAX mode from 2002. HD meter is filled via the usual means, like super meter. But it has 3 uses:
…Half a bar of HD Meter gives you Drive Cancels, which allow you to cancel certain special moves into it’s EX version(but not the other way around) and EX special moves into other specials or supers. On half of HD meter, and without being in HD mode, you’re only allowed 2 Drive Cancels in a combo.
…Ok full bar gives you access to HD mode(omg V-Ism) where normals and command normals can cancel into specials while the bar drains at a set speed. BUT you use 10% of the bar if you decide to HD Cancel, which is basically just doing Drive Cancels while in HD mode. The tradeoff is that HD cancels can be done on block as well, whereas you gotta hit confirm Drive Cancels. Also under HD mode you can cancel specials in lvl 3 supers. Or do Max Cancels which are canceling certain lvl1 supers into lvl3s.
…Thing is, to do any lvl 3s while in HD mode, you have to have 3 super stocks(duh), so long as that HD meter hasnt ran out yet, but of course lvl 3’s end HD mode no matter if you did them at start of meter drain, or right before it ran out. Also, this is the ONLY way to do lvl 3s in this game. Have 3 super stocks plus full HD meter for naked lvl 3s. Or the way I explained above, while in HD mode with 3 super stocks.
Hopefully that sheds a bit of light on the system. I didn’t write all of that shit for nothing so someone better read it and comprehend. Nobody has to play the fucking game, BUT YOU WILL UNDERSTAND HOW TO OMG V-ISM.

For all of those that are planning to take part in our BYOB there are a few small rules:
- We have a fridge for you to store your stuff in. It must stay in the designated areas in the fridge.
- While you’re drinking, it must be in an opaque cup - no bottles or cans. (We have these cups on supply. You’re welcome to use them, or bring one from your favorite gas station)
- If you plan on drinking, you must check in with whoever is running the store and show a valid ID.
- If you get belligerent or violent, we’ll either call you a cab or the police.
- If we determine you to be too drunk to drive, we’ll attempt to get you a cab. If you refuse, your privileges to take advantage of the BYOB could be taken away in the future.
- View rules 4 & 5 as the “handle your shit rule.” If you’re drinking, you’re an adult and we expect you to act like it.
