The New Tennessee Thread: Our Infractions bring all the mods to the yard!

Lmao! Thanksgiving and black friday was fun. Got to eat some delicious food and pick up some games to keep me busy for the rest of the year.

Extra shout outs to josh and marcus for keeping me entertained while taking a big ass dump after eating delicious leftovers from yesterday.

GG’s Jason. Our connection has never been good for any game, but that was by far the worst. You seemed to be doing okay, but I literally had 2 entire seconds of delay. That was the first match I’ve tried online. Not liking what I see. I could tell you knew what you were doing. You’ll probably be the best KOF player around. No offense to anyone else, just thought Jason seemed better than I expected anyone around just learning to be. I will try the game out more online, plus I was probably running some other computers I could turn off.

Also, I was under the impression there weren’t any lenient inputs in this game, but they are certainly there. Nothing as far as shortcuts, but you can definitely get away with some stuff as far as inputs go.

Arson: GGs…yes there was definitely delay on my end…I just get accustomed to inputting things early.

You are definitely right about the leniency in the inputs; that wasn’t there from the previous games but I noticed it mostly when you have QCF and DP motions on the same plane of buttons…it tends to get them mixed up more now unless you are precise but they sure did loosen up the inputs…

I only really dabbled in the KOF games…mainly with 98, 2000 (ha!) 2002, and SVC Chaos but haven’t really played them seriously because there has never been a scene…

Shawn: Our connection was funny, eh? LOL

GGs to Joker in KOF

GG Jeremy.

GGs to DreamTR.

Im off weds so I can attend the first fight night and fill the room with my awesome hype and even more awesome chris and firebrand lol.

Dax we need matches recorded! Also sonic generations reeks of sweet awesomeness.

Deleted that Lupe off my computer Chris. Straight garbage, take those dubstep beats and go home lolol

I only played 3 matches online. Both were 2 bar and horrendous especiallly when you’re not actually used to online. You guys know I never play fgs online, so I never make any allowances for the shit. But I heard 3 bars were solid enough and 4 was damn good.

GGs to Marcus, Rell, Nando and Dan in XIII. And Cody(yes punk ass KodeePoo) in Tek.

I finally hit my little comfort spot with this game. Which has been hell execution-wise because of flip-flopping between stick and pad to find that right groove, also with the definite input leniency you guys speak off. It’s much different than past KOFs obviously, and KOF always profited off buffering stuff in combos, but some of it is pretty annoying.

I’m on pad at the moment, but anyone who plays pad is going to run into this problem in particular among many: Like if you play with Rob, Ryo, and Takuma and trying to get off the ranbu specials (F,B,F multihitting moves) if you have meter, you’re probably always gonna get super because the pad will register the forward, back, to forward motion as if you slid it half-circle forward. So you’d have to do awkward stuff like becoming accustomed to buffering u/fs and stuff. On stick it’s the qcf and dp motion mixups if using the same buttons, as Jason already stated. It’s not a huge deal, just something to be aware of.

GGs to Eddie, Kris Nelson, and Patty tonight.

ggs to pattycake, full nelson, and negarlic bread justice…

gnite. Heading to vegas in AM.

Gonna try Ash out again tomorrow. Switch out Leona for him and see how that goes. Jason was saying that Ash is one of the few characters you can play like SF. And I already rock Guile so it works.

Lol did you even listen past the 3rd track? I mean yeah there were some dubstep beats, but he kills them and they are literally like, tracks 2 and 3…

Hahah what’s good Zeth?

Also mane - getting a hang of timing in KoF. I can practice combos all day but as Pat said, “I have no idea how to hit people.” Need to play humans I think, then go back to training mode.

You made it through two songs and deleted it because it had half a dub step beat, which he murdered. Sad day. That mixtape is much better than L.A.S.E.R.S, but I don’t think he will ever be back on like his early shit but damn, harsh.

Super. Cold. Stepping off the jet looking like pharaoh in the flesh. I don’t know man, lyrically he is still on another level in my book, but then again I’m a scholarly fucker who spends free time reading Wendall Berry and Robert Penn Warren.

Yeah you kinda can, man. Ash is sick. He’s got Bison’s cr. short, flash kick anti-airs as low as SRK in SF4, his zoning is actually pretty good and his corner rushdown is good, especially because if they jump out they get hit by sans-culotte. I feel like he’s got a higher learning curve than other characters Ive tried out like K’ who just do small variations of the same small combo. Sans-culotte has a stupid input and the combos with it are hard as hell, and you kind of just have to know your way around the character to carry them properly to the wall, but his damage potential is great, plus Germinal awesome.

I’m playing Elisabeth now instead of K’. That bitch is classy as hell.

LMAO … Wow that video is so hard for me to watch - I’m embarrassed by my own play. I’ve come a long way from that. Though it’s always fun to see improvement.

Edit: I actually watched some of the ones in my youtube channel from back when we did the first rankings in Super … gah, so terrible and painful to watch yourself back then lol.

Yea, find someone else winning tournaments with Sim if you think it’s the character.

Ok… so get this… I called 12game(from whom i preordered) and they said that they weren’t going to be able to ship me the game until next Friday. So I’m like… fuuuck. I called everywhere, i went to town and tried all the shops that I couldn’t call (Dutch shops blow). No luck.

I got a tip that Rotterdam had a copy. So, I called and the guy said that he’d set aside a copy for me. I told my wife the situation and she was all pumped. We’d go to a post-WW2 city and check it out, get me my game, eat some dinner, then come home. (Rotterdam was destroyed in WW2 so it’s an incredibly modern city, architecture-wise).

So, we got on the train and rode to Rotterdam:

We got there and the city was beautiful. The scale was magnificent. Imagine a country that has a limited amount of space and incredibly high emphasis on sustainable engineering having a chance to rebuild a city from scratch after the war.

We travelled to Future Zone which was the most amazing game store that I’ve ever been to. Then, I bought 2 copies of KoF and some disney sing along game.

We went to eat and then boarded our train in Rotterdam. We just sat there. Over the speaker in Dutch we hear that there is a problem with the tracks and that the train isn’t going anywhere. They point us to another train. So, we rush across the station to the other train. After all of it… We’re redirected from Rotterdam to Amsterdam’s Sciphol airport. Which… sucks… because Amsterdam is NORTH of Utrecht and Rotterdam is an hour SOUTH of Utrecht…

So, we travel to Sciphol.

At Schiphol we take the next train to Utrecht. Keep in mind that I have my 6 year old and my 16 month old. It’s getting pretty late. So, we are going home finally. We go from stop to stop and suddenly the train doesn’t continue. We basically get stuck at a train station because it won’t be continuing to Utrecht. So, we waiting for an hour at the station until we finally were able to get on a train to Utrecht.

Anyway… By the time I actually got home and put the game in my machine it was almost 11pm and I have to go to bed by midnight at the latest because my baby wakes at 7am.

Here it’s Saturday and I have to train my BnBs for my characters because tomorrow I’m hosting a meet with 6 people and 3 setups.

Anyway, long boring story I’m sure… But, that’s how I got KOF13.

Also netplay is fucking perfect within Holland. Lol…
