Other than showing financial support for the site and being able to access the prem only area, not so much. Not sure how this effects avatar size yet, but that might also have taken a hit. Still, as has been said often in this thread alone, it’s the beta. I’m sure wiz is watching this thread for hints and tips on what to keep, what to change, and what to drop to make the new and improved SRK…well, new and improved of course.

rep and join dates can be a pretty hostile point for some new users (idunno whyyyyy), wouldnt be surprised if those are kept out permanently (at least rep in its current form anyway)

I’m very much digging this new layout. Like I mentioned in another topic, the other forum I post on has no join date or rep bar and has been a legit online community for the last 10 years. I personally hate the rep system. You can get shark attacked by people due to an opinion you posted or what ever and because one person that dislikes it will give you a neg and if you try to call out the person or feel like it was bull, you get an onslaught of neg points from their friends. It’s like highschool, you are in a click and you say something that one person in that group doesn’t like, then all the followers will back him up and you get shit for it. Same goes with join dates, oh wow you joined a few years before me so that makes what ever you say gold no matter if what you say now or later ends up being the same garbage that some one joined a few days ago posted. So I’m happy there isn’t any of this fabricated hierarchy anymore(until it might change back) and people can base people on the value of what they post instead of “oh you joined in 09’ you can eat a dick” or give people neg reps for no fucking reason other then to be a bitch.
I like this new layout and I hope it continues to change for the better.
I know what you mean about the neg rep. I posted that I dont tip waiters 10 dollars for a 15 dollar plate and Val negged me into oblivion…not that I gave shit at the time. I was just like cool…now I can get my full K groove rage on.
My eyes are getting used to the burning… although one thing I have to give credit for are the new features and more organized site.
BBQ speaks the truth. I like the idea of how the rep system will be handled now and I think it’s a step in the right direction. Get more people to contribute.
I don’t think there was anything wrong with the rep system, usually if you weren’t saying stupid shit, nobody was negging you. That said, I dont’ really care about the join date or whether or not there’s rep- but I personally don’t like the new layout very much. I do like the colors, but I don’t like page layout or navigation as much. Nor the fact that if you have a prem account you can’t change the skin to not see ads like you used to… Once you can change skins again after beta like some people have said, I think I’ll like it more.
Another thing to mention: on the subscribed threads part of your settings, it no longer shows who the last poster was.
I like the new layout but its missing Chun Li at the top. I nominate Cammy for the new '10 look. A little eye candy never hurt.

I like the layout, it’s a fresh new feel kindda like some new shoes or something. To be honest I will miss the old set up but it’s all good. I’m a little curious as to how the apex 2 system is going to work out.

premium versions of the new skins look great, though the top menu is still ugly and out of place on the black and ember one.
still want blue steel and srk black back, but it’s a start for now!
