That add on the very first post of every thread is kind of annoying too. Shit is huge.

Like the black and all the dark colored layout isn’t really appealing as the old layout was.

And I like the new layout. It feels a lot cleaner even though it’ll take a bit to get use to.

Might want to fix the whole “everyone is double posting for no reason” thing though. That’s my only complaint.

Come on guys don’t be so afraid of change, It looks alright. Sure a few things are missing like the rep system but hey this is a fresh install. They probably have to re-install all the mods they had in place.

Aesthetically the colour scheme is a tad too harsh on the eyes - particularly for extended periods of viewing. White on black, particularly for text, is considered a bad idea. Lighter pastel colours while somewhat hokey looking for many are a lot more pleasing to the eye for extended periods of reading.

I do like the tabbed idea for the site’s main areas (Home, Forum, Blog, New) as it helps promote the landing page. I also really like the idea of promoting posts and comments for potential feature on the front page. I think will also double as a way to promote posts and comments in areas and sub-sections of the forums I typically don’t venture into, which I’m certain will be the case for many others also.

I’m sure we’ll all quickly become accustomed to the new layout and subtle changes here and there though I personally find the new colour scheme too jarring for the reasons cited above.

I like the look of the new layout. It needs some tweaking, but that’s with any major change. Aside from the layout, there are three major changes that need to be addressed.

  1. The Return of Apex- Just as when Apex first came out, this has the potential to be huge, good stuff. I loved it the first time, and I love the idea of it coming back.

  2. Welcoming new members- I think this is a great idea in theory. I think we will have to wait and see if the newbie forum works out. The whole plan hinges on new people being willing to learn and not coming in there thinking their jFP, sFP, SRK combo is the best thing to happen to the game since dashing.

  3. Contribution System- This system is a great way to both make the first page or so of a thread relevant and a great way to sift through the newbie shit that pops up in every thread.

I love how on inkblot’s article on the main page was all about the history of the site, and about how we should all be more helpful to the 09ers/10ers. Then the first post is some 09er posting “first”.:rofl:

I think this whole layout could work, but its gonna be awhile for the bugz to get worked out.

I don’t even know what to think about the missing rep system… I never liked it very much, but I’m not sure removing it completely is the answer we should be looking for.

What does the “Home” button at the top do? It gives me an error about permissions when I click on it.

Nominating posts to be articles seems cool…

I like the black look of the site, needs some work still since its only in beta, but so far its good.
